Nommability (n.)

Nommability is the state of being nommable. Nommability is measured not only by the freshness, texture and flavor of the food item in question, but also by the attractiveness of the presentation. Today's breakfast, for example, scored a 9.5 on the freshness/texture/flavor scale, but only a 5 on the presentation scale (although the tray was clean, it was conspicuously missing its brightly-colored placemat, which remains in the Human's laundry basket, unwashed, for the second week in a row). Thus, the overall nommability rating of breakfast today was 7.25, bringing it just barely into the "Acceptable" category.

You gotta do better than this, Human.

Just remember, the important thing about presentation Spitty is that they present it promptly!!!

We like the square dish...does it make the food taste bettr?
Our Mommy uses a damp sponge to brush our crusty saliva-lade crumbs off our placemats...into the sink! We work HARD to fling food and she destroys our work in seconds. Sheesh.

I completely understand and agree with the Nommability Rating. My Mom uses special Japanese Rice bowls for me. They are quite lovely, especially the ones with the blue and white flowers on them.

Well, Spitty, whatever it is that you were having sure looks yummy. Maybe your Human will score better on the presentation next time. Bon appetit!

Hey Spitz you handsome devil! Love the square dish too! When That Woman gives me stinky goodness (only rarely) she puts it in little designer dishes that are small, then she has the nerve to complain when I've licked up and eaten the foodz and they get pushed off the edge of the thing onto the counter. I tell her, "Can't you see the Pied & Scrappy hanging out on the floor waitin' for me to finish so they can come clean up the rest??" Whatever...

Happy sleepy Sunday studmuffin!

We agree that presentation counts! We get our Stinky Goodness in small bowls in a bigger bowl. That helps.

Oh Spitty-the-Kitty, we have so much to say! We're sorry your food wasn't presented properly - we're sure your human will do better next time. We LOVE the photo in your previous post - great face! Our mom has had weeks like the one you've described, and we feel for you, buddy.

Now, the most IMPORTANT thing. Our mom sucks and didn't let us come comment right after you left us your comment about Mr. Teeth. We are so glad you told us about him! We love his name (how DOES your mom come up with such great names???), and our mom cracks up when she tries it picture him feeding himself!!!! Like a scene out of Cleopatra or something! hahaha

We hope you have a great week, buddy!!!

Sorry, us again. It just now sunk in that you're going to be abandoned. That stinks. You can come over here if you want - our mom is going to play hermit, so she'll be here all 4 days! We won't have a great feast like other cats because my mom is also lazy, but at least we won't be left alone!

Hi, Spitty,

I like the nomability scale. I may have to use it at my house. The PM can have the audacity to present my food on a paper plate! Horrors!

About the adoption: My PM/mama is allergic to cats, so she can't live with another one. But I have no heirs to my throne ever since The Traumatic Event. So I am adopting an heir so that someone can take care of the kingdom later on. But Coco will continue to live with her mama. Hope that helps.

Good luck Spitty. I've been trying to train mine for five years and they still don't get it.

Spitty, that square dish goes a LONG way toward presentation. Pity me..mom serves me stinky goodness on a PAPER PLATE! And she professes to love me so much! HA! A PAPER PLATE! Now the mat is very nice but again...a what??? a paper plate! I may go on strike one day.
