She Stalked Me

So there I was, enjoying an excellent Window Whiff of our recently-arrived Spring....
....and then chillaxin' in my Tower...
...when suddenly I had the urge to move to my hammick...

...and she sort of caught my Slither move.
It wasn't really a full-out slither, which involves a sort of slithery-slide, rather than a leap, to the floor. Still, her patience was rewarded.
Also, today's post concludes the Human's effort to post Every Single Day in March (she probably should've chosen February for her experiment, since it's a full three days shorter, but as I'm sure you've noticed, she's not exactly Einstein). Her conclusion is that until she stops working 11 freaking hours a day, she's probably not going to be doing this again! She has gained the utmost respect for those dedicated and selfless Humans who allow their kittehs to post every single day.

Pole Dancing

Hello, Kitties! The Human keeps trying to capture my, shall we say, unique method of descending from my Tower. She calls it the Spitty Slither, and says I look like this Black Snake. I find that kind of flattering, to tell you the truth, though I am not sure she means it to be.
Maybe one day I will allow her to capture me in Full Slither mode, but Spitty's a wily one and likes to keep his secrets. For now, you'll have to content yourself with just my opening move.
The second picture shows the purpose of my descent and is included as a gratuitous beefcake shot.

Spring Day, Winter Night

Thought for the day:
Heat not a furnace for your foe so hot that it do singe yourself.

(BTW, Do you think the Human should clean up and repaint that radiator pretty soon, or what?)

The Giant Fireball in the Sky

OMC, Kitties! Something's on fire in the sky!
The Human says, "Don't worry, Spitty," but I dunno. I kind of do.  Still, it does smell good out there, and it feels nice and warm, so maybe it'll be all right.

Supersize Me

Lean right in now and give Spitty a nosebump.
C'mon, you know you want to.
Don't worry; a little Windex will take that smudge
right off your screen!

All Right, All Right

I'm looking to the left.....

I'm looking to the right.....

Yes, yes--I'm looking right at the freaking camera! Can we be done now, please?

Wait--what's that you say? There's a funny little white spot of reflected light on my darling moist nosie?
You'd like another shot? Sure! Go right ahead!

Fraturday

Everybody loves Caturday, right?
But one of the Human's students coined the term Fraturday to describe that delicious moment just after the final bell sounds on Friday afternoon. I think I like her thinking, that's what I think.

Not a Garden Tour #3

Good evening, Kitties! Well, as you can see, it's time for another Not a Garden Tour! Today's tour will take you into the exotic and enticing realm of Faculty Room Mailboxes!

Box #1 is clearly the box of someone very concerned about having a bowl large enough to toss her lunchtime salad. There is even an Apple for the Teacher--ha ha ha! Wonder how old THAT is! It is not accidental that there is no convenient place to place additional mail. English teacher.
Box #2 contains on the right hand side an entire school year's collection of paychecks. Direct deposit has rendered the low-tech check less alluring than once it was, though it seems a bit contemptuous to leave them in that sad little pile. No, we can't has a raise. Spanish teacher.
Box #3 is the territory of a math teacher, whose box contains a little ceramic bird (waaaaaay in the back left corner) and an inexplicable pink paper sunburst.
Box #4 and its unnumbered neighbor are nondescript exemplars of the average state of faculty box messiness, It ensures that Important Messages will sink into the morass of paper until time renders them no longer Important.
Box #5 offers us a blue cereal bowl, a mug, and a tiny marshmallow snowman ornament, vestige of some Christmas past. Physics teacher.
Box #6 offers a classic example of the slalom effect. This teacher's box of tea (firmly tucked into her own mailbox so as not to be shared) has slid perilously to the right. English teacher.
Box #7 might contain beer, but alas does not. Science teacher.
Box #8 is notable for the single Hershey's kiss, placed there a mere 38 days ago on Valentine's Day. Soon the ants will come to carry it away. Webmaster, non-chocolate lover.
Box #9 reveals yet more Christmas decor (it was only three months ago!) and evidence of someone's aspirations for higher education. Art teacher.
Finally, Box #10 is notable only in that it contains another unconsumed pink Kiss, also in its 38th day of tenancy. Dance teacher.

So there you have the photographic evidence. And I'll bet you used to think your lockers were messy!

Tum'n'Tail, Tail'n'Tum

I am so sorry that yesterday's photo omitted some of my best body parts. Here they are.

(Almost) Wordless Wednesday

About 40 years ago, the Human took a 2-day workshop on photography. She remembers only one thing she learned: Balance directional force with space.

So, here ya go.

My New Ball

Remember my fun new fevver toy? Remember how I said there was even more exciting PetSmart stuff? Well, here's my fun new ball! The Human (in one of her rare correct decisions) put the ball in a jar with the valerian root my friend Scouty sent me for about a week, and whooooaa, Kitties, does it ever smell good!

It made me a little crazypants but only in the best possible way.

Spitty's Sink

Kitties! So, I am a creature of habit, and ordinarily I do not frequent the bathroom sink. However, recently, it has begun to call out to me: Sppppiiiiiiitttyyy, Spppiiiiiiiiiiiitttttyyyy.
So, I investigate it occasionally, which I would prefer to do in private! I mean, is that soooooo hard to understand?
It is?
Alrighty, then, I'm outta here!

A Tale of Two Pictures: A Voting Opportunity

Okay, Kitties, about six or seven years ago, the Human purchased this delightful water-color print in (wait for it now!) beautiful downtown Capitola (glorious home of Raymond and Busby). It hung placidly on the wall just above her computer desk for as long as I can remember. She likes it because it reminds her of one of her favorite places. I like it because it reminds me of one of my favorite meals.

But then...
...for her birthday in December, a dear friend gave her this delightful picture. She likes this picture because it has such beautiful warm colors and such wonderfully posed kittehs. I like this picture because...well, because what's not to like?

The Human is not willing to hang the pictures side-by-side, so I ask you:

Which picture deserves the spot of honor?
Gulls? or Cats?

Ready for the Weekend

Why, hello, Kitties! Thanks for stopping by Chez Spittola on this semi-sunny Friday.
Nice long stretch:
Enjoyable bath:
Jaw-distending yawn:
I think I'm ready for my first big nap of the day.
After that.... Well, let's just say Spit-tay has his plans, Oh yes he does.

What?

What do you mean, "We're out of tuna"?
Ohhhh, you're out of your tuna.
No, you can't have any of mine, not a single delectable morsel. Can't spare it. Uh-uh. Sorry.

Menu Worries

The Human went out to dinner last night (abandoning me yet again, but that's a topic for another post) at a restaurant called Café for All Seasons. While she was there, she took pictures of these decorative statues:
At first I was all, "Well, how cute! Statues of us in the Human restaurant!"
But then I noticed that the other statues appeared to be of cows and a pig, which, of course, the Humans view not as pets but as (::shudder::) meals on the hoof.
And then I was all, "What exactly do they serve in that restaurant?"

Spitty's New Fevver Toy

All right, Kitties. I admit it: Once in awhile The Human totally nails it. On Sunday she went to Party City and right next door is Mecca (aka PetSmart). Now, instead of just passing by on the way to Office Depot, she Did The Right Thing and turned on in. (Cue lights & music!)

And there it sat, just waiting for her. It practically screamed, "Buy me for Spitty, Old Human Lady!" And do you know what? Well, do you? She did! She did buy it! She peeled off those green papers and forked 'em right over!

And do you know what else, Kitties?  There was more! But it's too exciting to reveal all at once. So for today, just feast your eyes on your pal Spitty as he whips that Fevver Toy into submission. Yes, indeedy!

Rainy Days and Mondays

Guess what, Kitties?
It rained on Sunday.
Sometimes, I hang out at this corner store on rainy days
and buy me a 40 oz. and a cigarillo. Ha ha ha!

Sleepy Sunday

Look into my eyes, Human: Do I look like I want to play? Or am I perhaps settling in for my main nap of the day?
It's a Wise Human who knows the correct answer to each of these questions.

Lunch on the Fly

Yesterday the Human was walking along the Embarcardero and just look at what she saw!
Doesn't he look delicious? Wouldn't it have been nice if she'd bagged him and brought him home for me?
But, of course, she did not. So....
I'll just have to play with my Land Octopus. Fun, yes; tasty, no.
Sigh. So inconsiderate!
