Meet the Neighbors!

Remember her?  Well, Kitties, at my urging, the Human accepted a dinner invitation from the neighbors in order to investigate this irregular situation (well, and because she likes them, and because they're good cooks, and because, well, they barbequed! Mmmmmmm.)

So, over the long weekend, Eleni's pawrents dropped her off to visit yet again. The Human did not get a really good frontal close-up, but here's the best she could do:

The permanent resident is Onyx. So, were we separated at birth or what? She's a lot nicer than I am, though. Here she is enjoying her dinner (well, sort of enjoying. The Human thinks she was extra alert for the appearance of The Intruder to disrupt her peaceful dinnertime):

Finally, here they are in the den just as the Human was leaving. As you can see, Onyx's lasers are locked and loaded. We think she was a happy girl that Eleni was slated to depart on Monday.

Monday: Meow Meow Me Me

I am flattered to have been tagged by Pisi & Squeak to play a round of Meow Meow Me Me.
Question #1:  Where do I like to hang out?
This is the easiest one of all! Right now my favorite spot is atop my soft brown blankie on the dining room table. I don't know how much longer the Human is going to allow this set up, but while it lasts, it's SWEET!

Question #2:  Who is my kitty crush?
Just one Well, okay then. It's gotta be my Darling Admiral.
Question #3:  What is my favorite scent?
That's the easiest question of all. NOTHING is as intoxicating as my own manly smell!
Question #4:  What is my favorite TV show?
Why Batman of course, because of the sultry and wondrous Catwoman
Question #5:  What is my favorite movie?

Question #6: What is my favorite bit of feline wisdom?
Cats are rather delicate creatures
and they are subject to a good many ailments,
but I never heard of one
who suffered from insomnia.
~Joseph Wood Krutch
Ha ha ha ha ha ha ha!
* * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * *
Okay, the last part of playing the game is tagging three more players! I will choose three new furriends:

Unwarranted harassment by flashy box

Tunnel Vision

Kitties! It's against all my principles to go inside this thing....
...but look! It's Mr. Nippy!
Maybe I didn't dedded him after all?
Ahh, but there's a MUCH safer way to find out! Never go inside the Tunnel Monster (which might eat you) if there's a better way!

Since you've been at work

for about 100 hours this week, you could at least pet me
when I ask you so nicely.

(Still) Not-a-Garden-Tour #5

So, the students at the Human's school had a little art exhibition. (Disclaimer: The Human teaches many of these students....but she does not teach them ART, MOL! If she did, you'd be looking at stick figures and play doh!).
The Human liked these hands quite a bit. She thought the spatter looked very restless and the music and the plastic rosary were calming. She does not know why only the blue spatter appears on the hands.
These were very festive, plus there were four (like me!) They remind the Human of the henna designs Indians sometimes paint on hands.
These are made of corn husks. Huh. Who woulda thunk of that??
An origami mobile. I'd like to play with THAT all right, but the Human says, "No chance, Spitty."
The Human liked these two masks. She's a little puzzled about the lack of eyes on the blue & green one, and I think the Día de los Muertos one is a little unnerving.

The Human liked this a lot although she has no real idea what it represents. It had a lot of interesting colors and textures and things on it. You can't tell in the picture, but it was hanging free.
This was her favorite piece in the show. It's just two soda cans dressed up for the prom, but she loved-loved-loved it. Funny idea, great execution, even a pun!
Gaga-Palooza made her LOL. Gaga is a somewhat, ahem, altered Barbie, but Gaga's attire and all the other figures were painstakingly made by the artist. The whole thing cracked the Human up, but I don't think I get it. I guess it's not a kitteh thing.
Okay Kitties, that's it for this time. Hope you enjoyed today's Not-A-Garden-Tour! Stay tuned for next time!

Wordy-ish Wednesday

You're traveling through another dimension, a dimension not only of sight and sound but of mind. A journey into a wondrous land whose boundaries are that of imagination. That's the signpost up ahead - your next stop, the . . . .

Toy Tuesday: R.I.P. Mr. Nippy

Consider the House Panther in his natural forest habitat. Fresh from the hunt, he surveys his surroundings before devouring his kill.

PeeEss: Thanks, Kitties, for all the great advice about the Mystery Kitty. However, the Human went right to the source and found out that Eleni (for that is her name) is indeed a Guest Kitty & furriend to Onyx, and she is staying while her People are on vacation. Whether or not Humans should even take vacations that involve disrupting their kitty's life is another topic altogether, and one I am sure we will address presently.
But for now, Mystery solved. I confess I'm a little disappointed. I was kind of hoping we could have the Purrlice in. And it would have really been fun to have Nicki over to work the case with me.

Kitty-of-Mystery Monday/Neighborhood Watch

Well, Kitties, on Sunday afternoon I looked up through the kitchen window and what did I see? A mysterious kitteh where my friend Onyx lives, that's what!
The Human said she's probably just the visitor kitteh who stays there sometimes, but I don't know. I think she looks a little sinister, and where's Onyx (who's a House Panther like me)?
I also think this kitteh might be "casing the joint" for nefarious purposes.
I think we should call the Purrlice. Don't you?

Laptime

Well, "Butt-in-the-Lap-Time," anyway. Yes, Kitties, when the Pink Brushie comes out, I am helpless to resist its bristly goodness.
We understand that Picture #2 is, perhaps, just a wee bit out of focus, but I think it portrays perfectly both the ecstasy of the brushies and the agony of the requisite lap-sitting, which is so contrary to my nature.
An unexpected bonus in Picture #2 is the evidence of crumbs from her snack. She could at least have cleaned them up before my photoshoot. So lazy!

Nommy to the Last Drop

Mmmmmmm. Delicious half-and-half.

(Not that it makes up for her 16-hour absence today, mind you.)

Snake-Vulture Spitty

I am The Snake Vulture. Fear me, for I am waiting Just.For.You.
ZZZzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz.

PeeEss: The Human says we will be scarce till late Saturday or early Sunday. Her excuse for this outrageous neglect is (as usual) "work."

Thursday Thoughts

I hope I get another tiny serving of half-and-half pretty soon, especially since I did not get The Runs last time.
The Human has been very good about playing fev-ver toy with me lately; maybe I should show some gratitude.
If the kitteh wants to nap, nobody should be clicking the flashy box.
I wonder how Ah-nold kept that kid a secret for so long?
Is the world really going to end this Saturday?

And say, what's happened to the Giants?

The Bag Man

Nope, uh-uh. Still not safe.
Something in there might eat me.

Toy Tuesday

When the Human bought this for me, like, two YEARS ago, I would not give it even a speck of my attention. But to my surprise when she dragged it out to tempt me today, it had totally changed

P.S.  Kitties, do you notice that the nice white centerpiece-dish is gone-gone-gone from the table, and that my soft brown blankie has been unfolded a bit to give me more lounging space? Your offering pleases Kitty, Human!

Mancat-of-Mystery Monday

Now you see me . . .

. . . now you don't!

Weekend Bafftime

Don't blink or you'll miss the tongue action!
See? I told you not to blink.

P.S.  Just for The Admiral, Grayce and any other, ahem, "Admirers of the Tailio"

The Kitties Who Came Just Before Me

Although I like to believe I am her One and Only, the Human tells me often that there were many, many furry companions that preceded me.  Above are two of her favorites!

The big gray boy is Mr. Teeth, who, she says, was the Nicest Boy In All The World. He followed her around like a puppy and she could make him purr from across the room just by looking at him. His little sidekick, who did not stay little for long, is Clarkie (named after Will Clark, the Giants' first baseman in the late '80s & early '90s).

They were special boys who will always have a place in her heart even though they were not as good as me and mine, too.
