Kitties! Which shall it be?

In the Time of the Butterflies or
Zen and the Art of Motorcycle Maintenance?

You following me for some reason?

So, in case you're coming in here after me . . .
I'll be in this corner, ready to dive UTB if you try to get all grabby.

Buh-Bye, Human!

Spring Break was nice and all, but time to get back to work now and earn those Green Papers! Spitty needs food and toys and treats and clean litter and blankets and beds and all kinds of expensive stuff. Get going, now--make it snappy! And get home on time, too. I'll be hungry again by then.

Belated Happy Birfday!

To our dear Furriends, Aggie. . .
. . . and Wally!
Both the Kids turned the big O-N-E on April 1st!
As you can see, they are no longer thrilled to pose for the Human even though she came to Chez Aggie and Wally just for the purpose of a birthday photo-shoot! Aggie required a firm restraining hold against her Dad's chest (no, she was not actually choking!), while the more patient Wally needed only a gentle rump-restriction to be ready for his close-up. See? He's trying desperately to escape putting his best paw forward!
Happy Birfday, Kids!

Happy Easter

Kitty Furriends! Hope you all have a
treat-filled, nap-filled, Bird-TV-filled day!

So?

Yes, my furry little rump was firmly planted in the Human's lap.
Yes, she was petting me and, yes, I was liking it.
You wanna make something of it?

Friday Fun: Further Fevver Follies

Why, hello, Old Fevver Friend!
You may be fast, but I am faster!
There's no hope for you now.
And the mighty claws dig in!
Mmmmm, smells like victory to me.
There. Gotcha good. You're done for now!
So you think you can escape to the chair, my friend?
Come here, Fevver! Spitty commands you!
Bitey! Bitey!
Not much fight left in you now, is there?
Aha! Surely THIS time I have killed you!
Bye-bye, Pinkie. You're dead to me now!

What Is Wrong With This Picture?

Well, Kitties, have you EVER? The Human snapped this scandalous photo a few blocks from our house this afternoon.
Just look at that stupid mutt, slobbering with gratitude to his Human masters. They even placed ridiculous Human eating utensils in his paws! Could the humiliation be any more complete?
Further, does this not reek of discrimination? Where's the "Homemade Kitty Dinners" car?
I ask you, Fellow Felines, is this not an OUTRAGE?

Addendum:  Speaking of outrages, there has been one committed in my very own home, Kitties, my very own home! Last night, the Human watched a couple of DVDs, and at about 11:30 she turned out the lights, put an extra blanket on her bed and went to sleep.
I had been sitting patiently for several hours, knowing she would give me my dinner-time food before she went to sleep. But no! She actually went to sleep without feeding me at all, not even a crumb!!!  Now, it is true that I had my water and some crunchies, but a kitty comes to expect a certain level of service from his Human, and I expected my dinner!
To her credit (I guess; really, too little, too late), she did feel pretty bad and guilty this morning, and she gave me an extra-large portion of my wet food, which I devoured much faster than I normally do.
But still, how could she freaking forget to feed the kitteh?

For Mature Kittehs Only; Kittens, Shield Your Eyes

I rarely baff with such abandon in the presence of the Human, but something came over me today and I cut loose with the Full Monty Spitty. I didn't even care that I was being flashy-boxed.
Kitties! What is wrong with me?

Tuesday Toyday

OMC, Kitties! It has been another exciting morning at Chez Spit-tay! The Human has been rummaging through my old toys and this morning came up with a long-forgotten pink-stringy-snaky-dangly toy I used to love.
And you know what, Kitties? I still do! I think I will give the Spitty Seal of Approval to this whole Spring Break thing!

Fevver Fun on Monday Morning?

Good morning, Kitties! Something strange is happening here. The Human arose, fed me my breakfast without complaining or hurrying, and then she played my favorite fevver toy game with me for a pretty long time. She made coffee.
This must be what the Human is calling "Spring Break." Either that, or maybe she got fired from her job for "losing her filter" too many times, whatever that means.

Afternoon Update:  Guess what, Kitties? On the 105th Anniversary of the Big One in 1906, Mother Nature gave us a tiny jolt around 3 p.m. Just to remind us who's boss and all.

My Little Kittehs

Happy Sunday, Kitties!  Since a few people commented on My Little Kittehs the other day, I decided to give you an up-close-and-personal view of both their day-selves and evening-selves, because they are kittehs of multiple moods. They were a gift several years ago from the Human's godson, who has excellent taste as well as several kittehs of his own
The Day Kittehs are a friendly, quiet little lot, attentive but serene. When darkness falls, as it has begun to do in Picture #2, they take on a slightly more sinister persona. The candlelight throws their tiny faces into sharp relief, and they begin to sway a bit and emit tiny rumbles.
They transform yet again when it gets really dark, but they do not permit photographs after dusk.

Snoozy Saturday

Ordinarily, I would say it's "Caturday," but the Human is teaching me about alliteration and I want to be all fancy.

So far this morning, the Human has stayed home, played fevver toy with me, given me the brushies, and fed me my favorite breakfast. Mostly on Caturday, she leaves to do errands and go to the laundromat and stuff, but this is the first day of her spring break so she is being awfully lazy. In fact, Kitties, it is seven minutes before noon and she is still in her baffrobe. I'm ashamed of her.

But she just says, "Spitty, you never cook or do the wash or clean the bathroom, and you never get dressed at all, so you'd best be quiet."

Hmmm. If I had feelings, they might be hurt, MOL!  Happy Caturday, Kitties!

The Day After

Wow, Kitties! Thanks for coming to my Blogoversary Pawty! I had a wonderful time! But as you can see, I'm a little wiped out today. The Human had to be up early for work, but I confess I slept the day away and was just barely coming around when she sneaked up and snapped this slightly hung-over shot late this afternoon.
On the plus side, I got a Blogoversary present from the Human*, though it's really not much good yet. She knows I can kinda take or leave the 'Nip (though as the Admiral knows, I mix a mean Niptini), but grass? Well, grass is ambrosia, the food of the Gods, that's what it is. Mmmmm. Hurry up and grow this, Human!
*Uh-oh. Should I have gotten her something? Ha ha ha--as if my mere furry presence is not gift enough for any Human!

We R 1

Welcome to my Blogoversary Party
Step right up and give me a headbonk!
Then kick back, relax, take a nap or help yourself to the toys.
And please, have a Niptini and a snack:
Eat and drink up
Plenty more where that came from!

I'm very thankful today for all the kitteh friends
I've made in the last year!
  Thanks for stopping by

Spitty-the-Kitty, Interior Decorator

Here are two examples of my work. I am available for in-home consultations. I charge 40 jars of Gerber an hour.  The above is a recent arrangement. Note the welcome variety of textures and colors! The black is artfully strewn and clumped against the faintly patterned gold background, while the delicate whisker at bottom serves as a counterpoint to the larger line through the center. Although it is almost hidden by the "O" in "Oh", a very careful study reveals a bit of beige fluff from the Human's bathrobe. I incorporated that into the design, thus taking full advantage of found materials.

Here is a simpler statement on a dining room chair. You can see how my furs artfully repeat and set off the darker small pattern of the chair-seat fabric.
It is a CRIME, Kitties, a CRIME, that the Human continually drags out the Sucky Monster and deliberately ruins my hard work. However, I am nothing if not persistent, so stay tuned!

Mancat Musings

Hi Kitties!  Remember this? Well, a few kittehs wondered why the Human has so many candles. Here are some answers: No, we don't have frequent power outages. No, she does not resell them. Yes, she hoards them. Go figure.
And you know what's worse? That's not all of them! She does burn them often, but at her age, it's a race between finishing all the candles and the arrival of death. MOL!

The Human will be on spring break starting next Caturday. I'm not sure how I feel about that. On the one hand, we've been getting along pretty well of late; on the other, she's been talking about the Sucky Monster and how all my beddies need to go to the laundromat, which means I'll have to fur them all up again just when they have achieved the perfect balance of softness and good smells, so I don't like the sound of THAT.

Finally, do you know what next Thursday is? Well, do you? It's my One-Year Blogoversary, THAT'S what it is! I am probably going to have a Gerber and Niptini blowout, so I hope you can all stop by!
