My Shadow

I have a little shadow that goes in and out with me,
And what can be the use of him is more than I can see.
He is very, very like me from the heels up to the head;
And I see him jump before me, when I jump into my bed.
--Robert Louis Stevenson

Spitty!!!!
Even before we scrolled down to read your poem Mom started reciting it.
Just the word "shadow" is enough to trigger it!
Her mom used to say that to her all the time when she was little. When they were outside and could see her shadow but also in the house when little mom would follow her around.

Looks like your mom could say the same about you! Thanks for the lovely memory!

Oh Spitty! My Mom LOVES that poem! When she was a little girl she had a book of Robert Louis Stevenson poems that her parents used to read to her every night!
Thanks for sharing!

Never heard of the poem but I do love the pic. The only reason I wasn't returned is because of Pop. If Pop dies before me and TW, I'm going back. Your Mom couldn't get you back into the case. HAH!

Pawsome photo Spitty!

Introoder is right! She is driving me crazy!! Playing with all of MY toys, getting her scent all over MY cubes, and worst of all - trying to sleep on MY blanket!

OOoooh! That's a giant scarey Spitty! Two heads are better than one.

My woman remembers her mom saying that to her when she was little. Like a hundred years ago.
