Not-A-Garden-Tour #13: Missed Meals

Although we live in the Concrete Jungle, Golden Gate Park is only a block away.
Last Friday, the Human and Aggie and Wally's Dad celebrated the last official day of Spring Break
with a lovely stroll around Stow Lake.

Below, you can (sort of) see an arched stone bridge connecting the outer path to Strawberry Hill:

But here's the ugly underbelly of their stroll. Look--just LOOK, Kitties!--at all the delicious treats those two "mighty hunters" could have brought home to me (okay, and Aggie and Wally, too), if they had not been so selfishly preoccupied with their own chattering:

Look at these tasty geese! How many meals would they have made?

Duck soup!

Mmmmm. Turtle on the freaking Half Shell!

Instead of bagging that wild game for us, they took this nice piiiiicture of the nice pavillllllion so all the other Humans can say, "Oh, that's so pretttttttty." Hrrrumph.
Well, I can't eat "pretty," now can I, Human?

You pretty much hit the nail on the head, Spitty. These two are definitely in line fur sum demerits!

Geese? Not too sure about those since they have a tendancy to chase and peck! Think you should be glad the humans didn't bring THEM back. :)

That's right, Spitty, who cares about some dumb pavilion! The main attraction is the plethora of awesome poultry.

Those geese might have been hard to tackle and capture. They are tough birds. But you are so correct, no way can you eat pretty. We do like the pictures of the geese and turtles and the duck too. Take care.

That is pretty nice for the human to live so close to the park. I guess it doesn't make any useful difference to you if she won't bring you home some wild gas, though.

When my human was a kitten she used to go to Golden Gate Park, it's lovely! You live so close! So...hmmmm...maybe some of us kitties could teleport over..we plan your escape and we make one of those tasty birdies our feast! Yes, it could happen.

Whoa! Do I see breakfast, lunch and dinner? All these blogs are making me hungry. First Simba had Turkeys, now ducks and geese. Forget the pavilions and let's get the barbie going.

That park looks very pretty but you're right... they should have made a better effort at bringing home a treat or two for you. Maybe next time?

That is a very beautiful park, but we'd prefer having our mom at home waiting on us hand and foot!

It is a pretty place, but I feel so bad for you Spitty, you gotta be hungry!

Yep, there's something wrong with your Human for not addressing your needs! Maybe you should hide some of her food and see how she likes not having what she wants.

From Caroline: It's true, Spitty! I was pointing west on my tiny walkabout!

Oooooh! Spitty, you would LOVE our place. There is a lake out front with ducks and geese and swans (the nasty mute kind, but tasty none the less). I eat duck, although my woman hunts it at the store. (How stupid is that?)

My woman says that she loves that park and wished we lived near, so that she could enjoy it in purrson. Enough of that! Where's my dinner?

Spitty you are exactly right and I do love how you let us know exactly how the humans sounded...all that palaver and nothing to show for it to put on the table! Turtle on the half shell. Would that have been SO HARD??? HUH? Sheesh!
