Color Me Grumpy

So the Human went to The Holy Temple of PetSmart today (theoretically a good thing), but she decided to "try me out" on some high-end ultra-healthy foods. She figured that since I am more interested in eating now, that she could try to stretch my culinary horizons. Sorry, Homie Don't Play That. Take your $1+ a can miracle fudz and heat it up for yourself, Human. Meanwhile, I'd like my nightly can of Fancy Feast or Whiskas, please, and make it snappy.
On the plus side, she did replenish my favorite crunchies and purchase a couple of toys that appear to have some potential for fun.
Oh, and there seems to be some kind of  ballgame on.

Spits those ultra foods can be mighty tastee after all just recently you sniffed at all noms give it a shot.

Dooood! Give it a try. I love enjoying the foods that cost my people the most money. Knowing they have to pay so much more just makes it taste better!

Yah, the lady is watching the ballgame right now. She's sure that your human is VERY happy.

I don't like those expensive, high-end wet foods either. Back when my old pal Elvis Pussley was not feeling well and the lady was buying every kind of wet food, she would always give me a taste. I rejected them all. Fancy Feast Classic...that's my wet food. Now, kibble...with kibble I do enjoy a mix of all the high end stuff.

Why can't they just let us eat what we'd like? We don't sit there and tell them to cut down on the sweets and meat and cholesterol, do we? They should be happy we don't eat all kinds of expensive food. Then they'd complain that our tastes are too ritzy.

Spitty, hold out for the good stuff...we got bites of one of those rotisserie chick-hens from the store. ::twitch::

My only regret is not stealing the remains of the bird to lick it clean.

Your mom should buy you one of those. Forget the canned stuff.

Oh Spitty dear, it does my heart good to know that you really are the same after all! Surly to your mom, picky, and huffy when thwarted! So it seems that the only change since your.. *ahem* you know.. is appitite, but not what you have an appitite for!

Star says: I know EXACTLY how you feel! They tried to change our food just because that barbarian cant eat fish.. *sticks tongue out* I happen to like fish! But noooo.. Well, we showed them anyway, and I have to say that the barbarian was with me on this. We refused to eat that goody goody garbage and are happily back on our favorites. Minus the fish flavors.. ok, it was half a win. I'll get out some good fancy feast if you want to teleport over. Perhaps our noses can touch over the bowl.. when it's empty of course!

Change is bad. Unless it's real live deaded chick-hen. Then, it's ok. xoxo

Binga and Boodie scarf down all that expensive, gourmet stuff! I don't particularly like it (well, the chicken and turkey canned Blue Buffalo Wilderness is pretty good, but that's about it). I stick to my canned Nutro chunks, and even then sometimes I prefer to just make a meal out of Greenies treats.

(And if you think that's weird, my human will sometimes eat a slice of carrot cake for breakfast - I think she gets her bad habits from me!)

Spitty, your eyes are looking golden in anticipation of Halloween.

About the spider plants - they are very TASTY to me. Cathy Keisha warned me they are toxic but from Mom looked up they are not, but they are attractive to cats. If I much on the leaves it makes me immediately throw up, kinda like eating grass would. So in that way it is bad for me to eat them.

Ha, King Sulky! You shouldDEVOUR the most expensive food and then she can but in bulk, just at the moment you decide it's not for you!
And are you a mancat or a mouse ? If the ninjas can sit outside for an hour or so in our chilly snow, surely you can ?! What a wimp. And we were out prepping Poo Corner for your visit.
And just for the record - Äiti is old and fat and lazy too, and she finds all the snow work loads of work in winter. Especially if it's more than once a day!
So what's this ball game stuff ?

You and me both with the whiskas, Spitty. I've just discovered their ocean spray selection or whatever it's called!!! tinky goodness at its most stinky!!!

I am sure Tigger spreads himself around with the ladies. He's not monogamous, that's for sure!!

We get chicken and liver ProPlan, because it's grain-free, and one or two flavours of grain-free FF (i.e. not the kind with gravy, because that has wheat/gluten). Our human gave up long ago, trying to get us to eat the $2+ cans of cat food. Anyway, the so-called premium foods are often filled with veggies (yuck) and have a very high fat content, to lower the cost and increase profits for the company.

So we say go with what you'll eat and forget about it!

Marg said...

We don't like those fancy foods either. We also like the good ole Fancy Feast foods. But nice try Mom. And congrats, the Giants won again. Wow. Only one more game. Take care.

Katie Isabella said...

What is it with the premium fuds I wonder? Not many of us will eat them. Seems they would research to make them more tasty.

LOVE that attitude though. I told mom that too but in more feminine type terms. xoxoxoxo

Hey pal - my peeps try to play that expensive cat food thing on me too and I don't buy into it at all. I'm with you - plain ole Fancy Feast. She tried to change my kibble too, and i refuse to eat it. Staff had better shape up or I'm getting a new pair!!

The Island Cats said...

Spitty, y'know, we get the premium brands and we love them. Though we don't have anything to compare them to since we have NEVER had the Fancy Feast. Are we missing something??

Hi Spitty, it's Zoey here. You asked whether I ever hang out with the boycats here. Well, sometimes I get to hang out with Ernie, but me and Wally...never. We don't like each other and hafta be kept separated. I spend most of my time in my very own room...it's a great place with a bed and big windows. I like it because it's MINE! So if you ever see a picture of me and Wally together, it's probably photoshopped!

Pat Hatt said...

Yeah those humans need to stop messing with our food, that is just plain rude.

You know... I don't know why it is that these peeps insist that they know what's best for us, food wise. Personally, I like what I like and I know what that is. purrs

Spitty, at least the ballgame led to some good lap time (for Kona!).

Our Arizona sisfur Shadow DETESTS the expensive fuuds. It's Fancy Feast for her all the way, or she transforms into Princess Pickypants. We eat anything though--or somebody else will! It's the Law of the Jungle at our house.

well, Mom tried the EXPENSIVE stuff after she kept reading on blogs about the benefits of "natural" ingredients and "raw" diets for cats. She bought some raw food...ick,ick, and more ick! THen the canned natural...pffft, pffft, and more pffft! Dad buys my food now, pure unadulerated (VBP) Fancy Feast chick-hen and liver pate, yuummmm

Spitty, even *Russell* doesn't like those fancy canned foods, and you know Russell is a veritable vacuum. So you're in good company.

How 'bout them GIANTS? (Blogger won't let me make GIANTS GIANT.)

We has a nightly can of tuna -- and Crunchies. We does not like the most expensive ones or the cheap ones, Whiskas and Fancy Feast and Meow Mix are preferred. Every morning we likes a can of Fancy Feast mixed with a half can of warm water. What we don't scarfs down, the hairy slobbery sisters eats!

Our mom has blown enough money opening expensive cans that never get eaten. FF here too and Pro Plan chicken. Zolie gets Friskies canned, but we LOVE the Friskies Tuna & Egg. It's the stinkiest possible food and we devour it! Hold your ground Spitty

Maxwell: Dood, some of that schtuff is DECENT. But ya gotta make her WORK for it, that's for sure. I'm the lone holdout in our home. (But you shoulda seen Allie bury her regular food when she decided she wasn't hungry. *mimics Allie's "air paws"* HAHAHA)

Oh Spitty we are sorry you are a grumpy today but cheer up because you look so cute in your picture!

I feel your pain buddy. They can take that 'spensive healthy crap right out to the trash! (or at the very least to the dogs next door). FF & 9lives are pawsome!

Okay, so maybe I wasn't signed in and that's what happened. But, it didn't tell me I wasn't signed it.
Sheesh.

Okay, as of 7:09 pm PST, this is a pretty exciting ballgame.
