The Back of Disrespect

SO, I finally seem to be really getting better. The Human says she was sooooo worried about me--Phfft. What did she expect after I was all miserable and manhandled?

But for a couple of days now, I have been eating a bit of my regular foods on my own (rather than having her rudely stick The Gerbers in my mouth so I had to swallow it), drinking some water mixed with half-n-half, and following her around again after days and days of barely moving. For the last couple days, I have actually played a bit (like a minute at a time, maybe) with a dangly toy. She was practically weeping with relief.

This whole abscessed anal gland dealio that has now happened three times is a problem. Because I will not allow touching at the vet's without being anesthetized, we can't go the rout of preventive "expressing" every month or so, so we are considering an operation to remove the glands. The vet says that will eliminate the problem altogether

It is quite 'spensive, but that's not *my* problem, now is it? Ha ha meow. But it can't be done till all the current problem is completely cleared up and I am tippy-top, 100%. All the precious bodily fluids they stole (my bloods! my precious pee!) came back purrfect, so we will bide our time and see what's what later in the summer.

We want to thank everyone for visiting so often and purring for me. You are all the best and I'll be back in visiting action soon.

Poor darling Spitty! Hopefully they'll remove the glands, and you'll be done with all this! We still think it might go away on its own though.

Been through the ringer and back, I guess you get payback with the lowering of her bank account haha

Oh no! You don’t want surgery! Maybe 3 times is a charm and it’s all better for good! We can only hope. Sending you all kinds of healing purrz and smooches.

Spitty - I'm hoping that you won't need the surgery. Your Human is being good about looking after your health, even when the short term consequences are unpleasant, so perhaps you might reward her with a big hug?

That sounds really unpleasant, Spitty - maybe you WOULD be better off without those glands. I'm sending purrs.

Glad to hear you are back to your usual self and suitably indignant about your Human. Keep it up dude, and try to keep the sacs unblocked.

Ouch! We've heard of a few cats, over the years, who've had their anal glands removed. That's better than the alternative of abscesses, Spitty. Maybe we're lucky that Nicki's a pretty good boy--he meowed in pain when the vet did it, of course, but at least it's doable. :-/

Lots of purrs to you for healing now, and for whatever is to happen later.

We send you more healing vibes and POTP Spitty.
Have a serene Sunday and let us all enjoy some big easy today.
Best wishes Molly

Spitty, there is no way that you won't feel better with those cussed things removed. But I hate for you to go through it, darling. Once you do however, it will be over forever and you won't ever have to worry about that again. I am so glad you feel well enough to allow the human some mercy and let her feel better. She was terribly worried. Are you up sleeping with her again at her side? If not, please do. It makes them feel miles better. They smile the rest of the day when they wake up with us. XXXOOO

By the way, except you look totally and fully mancatly and I am a ladycat...we look so much alike at that angle, talio and all. xxoooxx

We're glad you're feeling more like yourself, Spitty. It would of course be better if you didn't have to get surgery, but if you have to be anesthetized every time you have this recurring issue, maybe surgery isn't that much more stressful than what you keep going through anyhow. We're purring for you to feel better very soon!

Oh my dearest, swe...well, okay, dearest KS! I find it totally scary to think you may have to endure the knife again! But if it's for the best and you'd be done with this, err... sticky situation then I suppose it must be the right decision. Your mom must be beside herself with worry to have to cram fudz down ya. We can TOTALLY relate to that and when you eat again on your own we do weep tears of joy and relief. That Woman was a babbling idiot over the Ornj Mutant when he needed to eat.

We send love, purrs, hugs & I even send a tiny bitey just so you'll know what you need to bounce back for.

xoxo

Spitty, we don't want you man (or woman) handled like that any more. If it takes an operation, then so be it. And we could have an auction to raise some green papers for you.

Oh, we've known other kitties that have had this operation and they've done really well.

Marty the Manx said...

Spitty so glad to hear you are better. We would happily pitch in green papers to help permanently fix this problem. Anesthetizing you every time isn't safe either so a forever fix would be better.

Spitty you have your pride re your bum. Good for you holding out. The humans are totally out of control aren't they. I go missing today for just a few hours and SHE is screaming and shouting and frightening the neighbours!! Think we need respite for sure!!

Oh Spitty...we're so sorry you've had to go through all of this. We're very happy though to hear there's a possible long term solution for you. We're sending you some extra special purrs for your nether regions.

Spitty...no human or kitty likes to be touched "there." Mommy says that they had a dog once with the same problem and the only way to go was surgery. This does sound pawful, but if it means never having to go through this again, that would probably be a good thing. Sorry we haven't been around much. Our mom is still dealing with this damn scorpion sting (though she doesn't type with her feet), which is her excuse. We will keep up the purrs.
