And . . . We're Back; Too Bad the Giants Aren't!

Hello Kitties, The Human is getting the only view of me that she deserves after a day like yesterday, when she waltzed off after a long day at school to spend hours and hours and HOURS at the Ballpark watching those bedraggled Giant Men win themselves a meaningless game that she swears lasted like five hours.
Of course, that meant I was left alone here for about 46 hours and ran out of food and practically fainted from hunger and despair.

Or I think it was something like that anyway.

We are pretty sure our Boys of Summer won't become the Boys of Autumn this year, even if it does break their even-numbered streak of 2010, 2012 & 2014. ::sob::

That was her sobbing up there ^ ^ ^, of course. Me? Well, I really don't care what happens to a bunch of overpaid Little Leaguers.

What a Difference a Day Makes

Do you know what the high temperature was in San Francisco today?  Well, do you?

It was 61° is what it was. Yesiree Bob, Six-One! And tonight's low is expected to be 54° (that's Five-Four to those keeping score) which is cause for party-time here by the radiator.

The Human enjoys suffering so she is going to the Giants game tomorrow to watch them lose and fall even further out of even wild-card contention. We'll be back Friday!

Do You Detect a Certain, Shall We Say,
Sameness to My Recent Posts?

Well, of course you do! You can hardly expect me to carry on with my normal life in the face of this hellish weather pattern that has inflicted itself upon us until . . . today, when the Blessed Fogs (amen, amen, hallelujah!) appeared just above the horizon as the Human drove homeward (her school is in a much hotter part of the city). It is a wondrous thing how the sight of gray mist can transform a person's (or a kitty's) outlook on life from bitter despair to sweet optimism
Heck, if that horbibble debate were on tonight instead of last night, she might even have found the strength to watch it.

I Got the 11:30 p.m. and Still 80° and No A/C and
No Fogs and I Has the Droopy Tail and Earsicles Blues

Please . . .  someone . . . I need my fogs
. . . now.

Just look at me: I'm hideous.

If I ask You Politely

could you perhaps explain why my most excellent new box is joining me here on the bed, and why all my other, semi-excellent boxes have been relegated to the back porch? Because this is what I view as Suspicious and Worrisome behavior on your part.
Do you have Other Humans coming over here? Because I suspect you do, and I further suspect I am soon to be confined here in the bedroom with this box that is suddenly not so very appealing after all.

And where, might I ask, is my food?

Sunshine Sunday Selfie

Hi Kitties,
I can't say I am exactly  pleased about the sunny & hot weather that appeared this weekend, but since we had record cold in July and August, we guess it is only fair for the heat-lovers to have a short summery season before autumn takes over. But it should be really short--like maybe four days or so? Because really, who likes the hots?

                            Caturday Art: I'm All Ears

Did anyone else think to himself,
"This Human does not have enough to do"?

Too Little, Too Late . . . Maybe

Well, well, well, Human, isn't this just dandy? You think you can make up for a week of neglect with a toy and some petting?

Wait, wait now. I didn't say it wouldn't work, or that you shouldn't try. I was just starting to drift off there for a minute.

Are We Done Cuddling Yet? Can I Go Now?

I've been a good boy but I'm bored now. We can do this again tomorrow.

NFL Sunday Selfie: Oh, Cr@p . . .

not *this* again. The only time pigskin is worthwhile is when it's in my food dish. Wake me when the Boys of Summer play the World Series.

All Right, I Admit 80° Was a Nice Change

But today was 86° and I confess I did not enjoy it quite so much. In fact, I would say my pleasure is reduced by about 10% for every degree above 80°, which means that at 91°, I am actually experiencing negative pleasure.

Is that a thing?

I think that's a thing.

Warm Toesie Tuesday

So. Kitties, guess what? We saw the sun today, and for more than 9 minutes, too! It was a mellow 80° today by the Bay, and yours truly took advantage of every degree.

Two Cats, One Ribbon

Hello, Kitties:
Listen, I won't bore you with yet another abandonment outrage, but I will point out that The Human visited and tarted around with the Ashland/Santa Cruz cousins, the infamously adorable Butterscotch* (left) and his brother Cooper.  Third Musketeer Lillybelle was taking a ladylike nappy by this point.

*I do note with satisfaction that he is not *quite* as adorable as he was when he was a kitten, though the Human says he is still plenty cute. Phtooey.

While I Was Doing This Today . . .

Lun Lun at Zoo Atlanta was much busier doing this. Whoa!
.
.
.

Here she is with her firstborn, Mei Lan, in 2007:
(still from a friend's video)

Woo-hoo! The Human loves her some pandas and she wishes these newborn twins the very best. Me, too, though I was a little shocked to see what they look like at birth! Not cute at all
Kittens much more adorable. Of course.

Stalkerati, Redux

Okay, I guess you probably figured out there was no post last night. Now, that is not terribly unusual these days, I am sad to report. From a high of 368 posts in 2012 we dropped to an abysmal 306 posts in 2014. But even that year, the veritable nadir of our productivity, we had 214 posts by September 1, instead of the paltry 211 we are currently sporting.

The fact is, the Old Bat just ain't what she used to be. I can't count on her to help me with the blog like she used to, and I can't even count on her to *be* here to play with me and cuddle me and keep me company as much as I would appreciate either.

Last night, for example, was "Back to School Night" (as if any adult in his or her right mind wants to spend two tedious hours listening to a bunch of teachers natter on at them)! Didn't they have enough of that when they were teenagers themselves? Frankly, I think the Human was probably talking to herself. Which, come to think of it, isn't much different from what she does all day long with those kids anyway.

Anyway, now she's stalking me. It's sort of flattering in its way, I suppose. But I need to hold out long enough to keep my self-respect intact. Don't you think so?
