Sunday Selfie: So You Think You Can Photo?

The Human's photoing skills leave much to be desired. For one thing, she is too lazy/impatient/unimaginative to take good action shots so she's forever sneaking up on me when I am napping (which, to be fair, I--like most 12-year-old kitties--do a lot of). It's easy, she says. I look good, she says (and honestly, who wants to argue with that?)  Still, lots of times I rip around the place chasing toys or imaginary mice and I look way more interesting and exciting. Apparently, her photoing skills are not up to that, or she's too lazy to go get the camera, or she's up to some inconsequential Human activity.

I could use a new photographer. Maybe craigslist has a section for that? I could pay in kibbles. Or Kitcoin.

Spitty, the mom is woefully inept at taking photos of us when we're playing and stuff. She says we move too fast. Well, what does she expect? We're gonna pose or something? Sheesh.

My human has a hard time getting me in action too! I say she needs to work harder.

Just another area our hoomins are deficient in. It's so sad.

I'm with Hairballs - you always look great Spitty. That said, I will - again - encourage you to consider a wholesale replacement for your current Human if you're thinking of going to the trouble of trying to find a photographer. I mean, what next? Hiring a separate Human for tasks requiring those magic thumbs? Hiring yet another one to play with you? The really sad thing is that it's not that hard to find Humans who have got ALL the skills you're looking for - all in one gentle, caring, playful model. Just look at how well your Iza-Lambie has done. Admittedly, she benefited from Cats Who Came Before who had done excellent preliminary training of The Big Thing, but she and her brofur and sisfur have continued in their pawprints, and now have a really top-notch, well-trained Human. You owe it to yourself to aim for the stars in the staff area, Spitty.

Beware - she might get a GoPro. Then the camera is on you All. The. Time.

It's not always good. Especially as it never clicks at the right moment to show the girlcats in their sneakery, but somehow I always get caught.

Stick to still life shots.

Hmm I'd offer a trade but yours sounds as bad as mine. Still better the devil you know, and a peep in paw is worth more than two in the bush. Have a great week! Purrs ERin

Mine is pitiful too. Always sleeping or close to it when she hauls the flashy box out. Pfffttt!

Oh Spitty I think your current photographer does a good job - really she does. We kitties look at our best when we're lounging around enjoying the serenity of our beddies.....as long as we can not have the flashy in our faces we can tolerate things (if we HAVE to). You do look magnificent in your beddy after all. Give her another chance......!

Actually, Spitty, we like this photo. Your eyes are open, and you are looking at the camera. Is that your floofy tail on the left of the photo. It adds lots of visual interest. In Mom Mary's defense, action shots are very hard. The cat always comes out blurry. Our mom stinks at them as well, and she is not much better at video. Thanks for hopping. Misty May sends a kiss. Oh, this is a good photo with good lighting that shows off your....er, Spitty-ness. We understand completely about the household photographer. Our is terribly low-quality but what's a cat to do?

Spitty, you've got some serious stink-eye going! But, realize that humans are human, and just not as gifted as cats.

My mum complains that she can never get any photos any more because I am always asleep. If she wants to take an awake photo of me that badly she should get out of bed at 3 AM. You are Looking good in your selfie, and your eyes are open.

I know you do love to share off your speed play skills. But I adore seeing you in your favorite spot, soaking up the sun. Those photos always make me happy. I hope momma takes more and more and more!

Black cats are hard to photograph, Spitty. At least that's our mom's claim.
