The Heartbreak of Infidelity

This is Jon Schnow, the 15-week-old puppy of one of the Human's colleagues. He came to school with his Dad today. He is a Mini-Schnauzer. He is adorable. He is friendly. And playful. And he doesn't has claws and he doesn't draw blood when he bites. The Human fell in lurve.

And where's the challenge in having him as a pet, I ask you? So boring and predictable. Phffft.

                         Happy Halloween, Kitties!

The Human says this is a pumpkin, but I don't think so. Do you? Well, I thought not. But I wish it would go away and let me nap.

Sunday Selfie: My Favorite Day Cometh

The Human's colleagues are so clever. Unlike the Human.

OK, I'm Waiting. Anytime Now, Fog.

I think I scared the Human today, when she found me all sprawled out on the floor like this!

Hey, it's nearly Halloween, right?

Time for a little scare.

94° and Counting

Kitties!
What is wrong with this picture?

Cat on a Hot Dining Room Floor . . .
with a blanket?

But wait . . . it actually feels kind of good. Ahhhh...(n)i-i-i-i-i-ce!

Sunday Selfie: Box. Feather. Spitty.

This has turned out to be one heckuva box, Human. Thanks for not throwing it away.

But honestly, is the price for 10 minutes of playtime yet more photos to prove I don't sleep 24/7?

I mean, I almost do, but that's because you're so old and boring.

                         Caturday Afternoon Naptimes

The Human says I look adorable all a-sleepies like this.
I really can't say I disagree with her.

Is the Glass Half Empty or Half Full?

I say it is 100% full. What more could it possibly need?
A pretty LadyCat? Well, okay. Now you're talking.
I'm waiting.

All Right, Lady

What in Sam Hill are you trying to do to me here?

Huh?
Huh?

Hands off now, okay?

                                         This & That

Ahhhhh, yes. Right there, right there is gooooood
Brush, and brush, and brush . . .
Hey! Who said you could stop?

* * * * * * * * * * * * * * *
In the news:
This is our street, looking up to the hospital two blocks away.
It's a bit hazy today, but not as bad as yesterday.
They say the winds will kick up over the weekend,
and that will mean we'll be smokier tomorrow.
The Human says she feels like she's been sucking down Winstons again.
We know we are lucky to just be a tiny bit uncomfortable.
The losses up north are incalculable.

Only a light dusting of ash on the roof of the Human's car today.
(And frankly, it was none too clean to begin with.)

I Don't Always Care Much about Human Woes . . .

. . . but today I am purring very hard for our friends just to the north in the Santa Rosa, Napa and Sonoma areas, where wildfires are burning homes and shops and businesses and hotels and animal habitats, and anything else in their path. Thankfully, the wind has calmed, but the fire is not at all contained yet. The Human thinks that the pretty road and wonderful little area of Calistoga she visited right before school began might not look the same for a long time. Bless all the firefighters and the people trying to help up there.

               Sunday Selfie: All Played Out

So after a couple days of good playtimes, I had a nice nap in the sun. Life is good, eh?
I really need some new stuff to complain about. This is  . . . unnatural.

Sweet Contentment

It would have been nice if the Human had cleaned
the schmutz off my eyes before we made this little movie.
But go ahead and turn up your sound, press play,
and close your eyes:

I Like to Keep You Company

while you work here at your desk, but I think it's kind of unreasonable to expect me to pay these bills for you.

You don't even give me an allowance!

  The Human Says . . .

I has the Mel Tormé earsicles. For once, I won't disagree with her. Do you know what they called Mel Tormé? I do.

***And the winner is . . . Ducky's Mum in the very first comment! *I* think my ears are like velvet and they look a sort of foggy color here, don't you think? He was one of the Human's favorite jazz singers--here's a good one: When Sunny Gets Blue.

                         Sunday Selfie: My Favorites

So I played with my toys like a maniac for a long time last night and again this morning.
The Human says she is afraid I might be taking methamfedameens speed or something,
but I told her I am having a second kittenhood and she seemed to buy it. Heh, heh.
