                        Tuesday Talking Points

Hey, Spitty, I really don't think we should forgive
the Human for locking us in the closet
this afternoon. Honestly, it took her, like,
forever to figure out where our pitiful meowing
was coming from and let us out. She didn't really
even seem that sorry to me.  Phffft.
#noexcuses
Well, Spitty, I don't know. She has been
careless lately, but she is, after all, getting
more senile by the day, so maybe it's not really
her fault. How old did she say she was? I didn't
even know numbers went that high. Did you?
And the food has been good, right? I say
we take our nap now and decide later.

S-t-r-e-t-c-h-y Sunday Selfie

Sometimes when I  s-t-r-e-t-c-h out, I realize I am, like, 6'2"

I'm yuuuuuuuge.

The Human better Watch Out.

The Watcher

So the Human went to visit a friend & colleague today. I gave her permission, because the nice lady in question has been out of commission since being hit by a drunk driver last November. The Human's friend was a pedestrian at the time.

She is doing pretty well and will return to work later this semester. So as you can imagine, I was happy to grant approval for this visit.

However! I did not anticipate there would be others involved in this visit. I might not have been so lenient had I had advance knowledge of Scout and Portia.

              Spittola's Sepia Splendor

Hello, Kitties. I've missed you (well, I suppose it would be more technically correct to say, "I've missed you during those very few hours of consciousness we kitties enjoy in any 24-hour period.") She sepia'd me thinking to be all clever and old-fashioned, but I kind of miss my purple beddie and really black (and red) furs. Still, I guess I look all right except for that big baldish spot above my eye there, though she did try to cover it up a bit. Her Photoshop work is like having bad plastic surgery though. Best to just accept yourself au naturel and carry on.

Didn't Work on the Ark Today

but I've made a lot of progress in the past month. I'm still wondering about some of the passengers, though. Do we really need Chihuahuas? or hamsters? And certainly not two of them anyway.

P.S.
One of the Human's officemates, who wishes to be known only as TPT,* took this *much* better rainbow picture at the 24th Street BART station yesterday. We bow to her superior rainbow-framing.

What Do You Mean You Wanted a Pot of Gold?

C'mon! You know you'd rather have me, right? Right?
It hailed this afternoon and then the sun came out and then there
was this.

At Last: A Sunday Selfie!

Would you believe the SUN broke through for about 20 minutes? And, heat-seeking missile creature that I am, I found it and gloried in it, however briefly. Of course, the Human did not miss her opportunity either, drat it. Still, a clickity-click was small price to pay for a few rays.

Plus, it gave me a chance to rejoin Sunday Selfies after about a month away. And may I say, Smoochies to Beauteous Misty-May, and thanks for the kissie on my Whale-Day.

Ding Dong, My Playtime's On

Me and the Human were playing Wizard of Oz the other night. Sometimes we reenact entire scenes of our favorite movies. You should see our Exorcist rendition.

Excuse Me, Butt Does This Picture Make Me Look

like, oh, I dunno, an ORCA* maybe?
Oh, Saaaaaaay-lemmmmmm....

*Or perhaps a North American Large Black Hog? Clicky to see.

1. No Kitty
2. No Kitty
3. No Kitty
4. Sorta Kitty
5. Lotsa Real Kitty

1. The Human finally removed the bright red Christmas wreath from our door, and replaced it with this autumnal one, which was a Christmas present.  There must be some sort of meaning in this, don't you think?

2. Thirty years ago the Human attended an art auction where she purchased this painting for what was to her an outrageous price. Still, it has hung in all her classrooms and offices ever since. But she never allowed herself to go to an art auction again!

3. Wow--look at that moon! Taken from the corner of our street coming home from the moobies on Caturday. She *should* have been home with me.

4. Okay, pay attention now cause this is impawtant! The dark red area of each map shows "exceptional" drought. The map on the left is from January 2016. The dark red covered more than 70% of the state. The middle one is from January 3 of this year, when the dark red area had shrunk to 18%. The final map is from January 10, 2017. The dark red now covers barely more than 2% of the state!
So what's the "sorta kitty" part? If you look carefully, you can see the magnets at the lower center of each map are kitty butts! Ha ha meow!

5. No words necessary, amirite?

Mea Me Some Damn Culpa, Human
We Haven't Posted Since Tuesday

Can you even believe Spitty the Kitty has positioned himself voluntarily in this nice new box and even let it CLOSE on him?  No, me neither!
In fact, I am pretending not to be enjoying it at all, all up in here where it's warm and dark and cozy, and where the Human placed a tiny towel just for me. Nope. None of this is happening at.all.

In other news, it did finally stop raining yesterday, and the Human was so impressed she took some pictures with her phone on the way home because she thought it was pretty cool how the sky still looked kinda dark while the sun was sort of out, and well, never mind because the phone's camera isn't all that great, but the Human went to all the trouble of emailing them to herself and cropping them and she was darn sure gonna use them anyway.

You know, I can respect that.

The Pineapple Express: We Has It

The pitter-patter of tiny droplets as in Days of Old
like 2005 or something, when I was still a kitten!

I've Got My Phasers Set to Stun

I've about had it with the Human's shenanigans with work and other stuff --and none of it *my* stuff either. It's an outrage, really, is what it is.

On the plus side, she was home a lot this weekend reading essays and paying more attentions to me than usual. In fact, I grew rather weary of her.

It rained a lot. And apparently, it's going to rain a lot more. I guess we are having six years' worth of rain in about five days.

So the Phasers are lit up just in case they're needed. I do not anticipate actually firing them though. At least not tonight.

Waiting for the Storm

Okay, so this picture is from a couple of weeks ago. Before The Colds took up permanent residence in my city. You are seeing it because all I have been doing lately is curling up sweetly next to the Warm Machine. I mean, of course I do other stuff, but the Human is all distracted by "work" and every time she thinks of photo-taking, I am already slumbering in front of the W.M.

Supposedly the Storm of the Century is due to arrive any minute now, although so far we've not seen much except damp pavement.

We may be taking another short break for a few days, as the Human seems unable to get her grades all done while still keeping up with the impawtant stuff. Like my blog. Phfffft.

Box, Blanket, Belly

Paw curl, toe stretch, shiny floof: Thrown in for free.

P.S. Breaking News:
There really *is* such a thing
as too much warms. Go figure.

          Tuesday's Potpourri

Butterscotch begged the Human to toss his favorite pipe cleaner toy. But of course, she preferred to get out the flashy box and take his picture instead of acceding to his perfectly reasonable request. Figures.
Looky! Looky! My dear furiend and fellow Royal, Punapippuri, King Kitty Cat of Finland(N) sent me a print of the wonderful painting his Aiti had made of seven of The Perhe (plus assorted other creatures of the Catio).
And really, what would a blog post be without some gratuitous beefcake of Yours Truly, from a couple of weeks ago when there was still Sun.

                 New Year, Good Cheer
                 Cat Toes, Warm Doze

So this was a quiet day of both the Human and I
lollygagging about, avoiding work, avoiding other Humans,
 avoiding any pretense of productivity.
Of course, this is what every day is like for me.
Do you know what the Human did today?
She wrote about a dozen Christmas cards
to family members who she feared might think
she was dead (no) or mentally incapacitated (perhaps)
if she went yet another year without responding
to their holiday greetings.

              Is It 2017 Yet?

Oh, Thank Cod! I thought last year would never end!
But it did, and so did that infernal NYE Human party.
I guess it's safe to come out now, but just to be sure,
I think I'll stay in my warm furry cave till tomorrow!

Happy New Year!
