Hello, Kitties! As I took a leisurely morning baff today (Why hello, Flashy Box!), I pondered the fate of a surprising new tender shoot on the Spitty Tree, planted and maintained for my personal pleasure and consumption.
When the Spitty Tree first came to live here several years ago, it was bushy and lush, more a shrub than a Tree. Over time, I ate steadily through the many lower branches, until the shrub-that-was reached Tree status. But over the last few days, I have noticed this:
What to do, what to do? Gobble that tender shoot up rightnowthisveryminute, or exercise some self-discipline and delayed gratification, and allow it to grow into a larger, possibly more satisfying, treat?
I think some self-discipline is in order! Just think...if you wait you will have soooo much more to nibble on! :)
ReplyDeleteJust a few lil nibbles an you will haz yur answer
ReplyDeleteI think if you bite the leaves off, the Spitty Tree will be encouraged to grow even more leaves!
ReplyDeleteLet it grow, Spitty. Then you'll have LOTS of little shoots to nom! :)
ReplyDeleteWe think those leafs haven't ripened enough yet, Spitty, and you should let them age a little longer...
ReplyDeleteSpitty, Your mom might have to protect it for you : )
ReplyDeleteI say chow down. Your mom person will likely buy you a new one.
ReplyDeleteIt is very Mancatly to have self discipline. That said; Carpe TREEUM!

Oh come on, Spitty - "delayed gratification" is not part of the kitty vernacular. I bet that shoot is gone by tomorrow.
ReplyDeleteFOR COD'S SAKE, MAN...EAT IT!
ReplyDeleteEAT IT NOW!
NOW!!!!!!!!!
I'd wait. The bigger the better.
ReplyDeleteHere today, gone today!!!
ReplyDeleteOoh, difficult choice! We'd opt to wait, though. The anticipation is half the fun!
ReplyDeleteEAT it, eat it now before the tender shoot drops off the tree. You have to seize the moment.

Oh, absolutely NOT Spitty. I'm like you..there's plenty of me to go around, MOL MOL.
ReplyDeletexoxoxox and lots more where those came from.
Spitty
ReplyDeleteI think I would wait for a bigger pay off!

We hope thats a safe tree ta eat (probly is, since you are still among us). But be careful with others. Some are downright bad for us kitties...
ReplyDeleteSpitty, come see my quilt (in my bloggie today!)
ReplyDeleteUm..there's room for guests.
We say hold off, though we don't know if we would be able to pull off the feat ourselves. It's kind of like my mom and the fudge her mom gave her for Christmas. She knows she should eat it slowly and savor it, but yet she still eats enough to almost make her sick. A lesson in self-restraint, we guess.
