Just Last Caturday,

the Beauteous Raven from Indulged Furries posed the following question:

"I wonder though, are you supposed to be on the table?"

It has taken me three days to stop laughing long enough to compose my reply, a memorable quote from many years ago, first spoken by a man who is now my idol:

I do what I want
When I want
And nobody tells me NO.

  1. Yes indeed! There is no control over us. What is this word 'no' ?

  4. What is this word, "allowed," of which Raven speaks?

  5. I thought that went without saying for cats, Spitty. It makes me a little worried about Raven's situation - perhaps her human does say 'no'? Dearie, dearie, dearie. Should you mount a rescue mission or would finding a re-training camp for her human be the better way forward?

  11. Oh and absolutely that was a corker about being on the table. The quote should be on a sign that is hung over every doorway in America that has a cat in charge. What a larf. Should you be on the table. HA! (no offense to Raven...just having fun).

  19. Buddy, I'm gonna have to look up "supposed to be". This might indicate some kind of acquiescence!!!!

BTW I've put a post about our little weekend jaunt with the cat scouts. I left out the bit about the incident with the ... you know ...... Mississippi mud cake incident!!

  20. Really? The table is the only place we can't go. Oh, and the sideboy.

Who's JL? I don't know any cat with those initials.

  21. Isn't that what all cats do. We think Raven would know that! She must be having her creativity and imagination stifled. XO, Lily Olivia, Mauricio, Misty May, Giulietta, Fiona, Astrid, Lisbeth and Calista Jo

  22. Spitty, I'm happy to have made you laugh. I had no idea my innocent question would incite such a lively discussion. I wish no one ever told me know, but those aren't the rules in my house. I wrote an explanation on my bloggy. Maybe I need help renegotiating my residency contract. Oh, and thanks for saying I'm Beauteous..

  23. MOL! We feel the same way, Spitty. No one stops us from doing what we want to do.

  24. We are always allowed on tables. Kitchen counters seem to be different things though.

  25. Love the quote Spitty! "Allowed" isn't in our vocabulary either. Mom says you know what you are in for when you sign up for pet ownership. Hair everywhere and kitties in high places!
(That is what clorox wipes are for when I want to use my table and counter for food anyway Spitty :) The Mom)

Leave me a meow or a hiss; I don't mind a hiss or two. . . or even a bitey.
