The Yin and the Yang of Spitty-the-Kitty

This post is a shout-out to The Mysterious Megan in Sydney, Australia, who is a fantastically
funny and clever and loyal commenter,
but who remains a mystery to me . . . both of me!
She makes us laugh every day and we look forward
to her comments, but I look West and I look East
and I still find no contact or blog info about her.
Anyway, Megan, you make our days brighter,
and if you ever want to come out of hiding
well, you know where I am!

Aaawww Spitty. I've come over all shy and embarrassed now. Thank you for your post. I haven't intended to be mysterious. Truly. But, I'm just a bein; no pussycat. So no blog. Nevertheless, I consider myself to be a cat person through and through. My husband and I had our Cat of a Lifetime - Mr Pooh - die at a very young age way back in 2005 and we haven't been motivated to replace him. He was a tuxie with unusual (quirky!) markings and a HUGE personality.

I became aware of cat blogs after finding the quiltmaking blog written by Darling Millie's mom, Lynne. (I make quilts too.) I saw the link to Millie's blog and went over to check it out, and was enthralled. It helped that Millie was also a tuxie, of course. (No disrespect to you, Your Highness, but they really are the very bestest of pussycats.) After a little while of following Millie's blog, I looked at some of the others that she had listed on her blog. Now I'm a regular visitor at Ayla & Iza/Mark's Mews, Just Ducky (was 'Derby the Sassy Cat'), Mr Puddy and, of course, Spitty Speaks. That's all. You guys are wonderful - so clever, witty, sophisticated and willing to invest time in posting regularly. Visiting your blogs doesn't make up for not having my own cat, but it's a real joy to me to know that there are so many beins out there who live with cats with sparkling personalities and who feel about them the way I felt about Mr Pooh.

I hope you continue to blog and share your travails with the never-ending training of your human for a long long time to come. Please know that your efforts are admired and appreciated here on the other side of the world.

  9. I also have visitors who leave lovely comments, and I don't know who they are to thank them because they don't have blogs either.

  11. What a great way to give an extra nod to a non-blogging follower! Maybe there should be some non-blogging admirer day in the blogosphere to pay tribute to them. We probably all have at least one.

  12. PS. Spitty - Noela is my mother! She is a keen follower of Darling Millie, but hasn't been over to your blog before now.
