Why, Yes, We *Do* Still Have Our Little Tree Up

The Human likes its cheerful color and light, and she says it isn't too weird to keep it a while longer.

Me, I think it *is* a little, um, strange to still have a tree when it's halfway to February.

But apparently I do not get a vote.

I'll just hide here under the chair and wallow in my embarrassment.

  1. Don't be too concerned, Spitty. No one will think it's your fault. They''ll - rightly - blame your human.

  3. It's a good idea to have that tree. the bavarians say the tree has to be there till candlemas day, to make the days brighter... maybe they were right and such Grinches like my momma who removed the poor tree one minute after christmas, are wrong?

  5. Aw Spitty, there's no embarrassment! Shoot, my tree is still up too! And this isn't even the longest it's been up! Once I left it up all year through the next Christmas! Ok, that one was a little excessive.. but still!
By the way, I LOVE that tree! You can see all the great ornaments! I want one, lol!
Glitter, by the way, loves that the tree is still up. She's been trying very hard to nibble on the ends of the branches ever since it went up!

  6. Spitty, our tree is still up too. And it is pretty big. Not sure if it is because the humans like it so much, or because they are lazy about taking it down.

  12. It wouldn't be weird at our house. All our Christmas decorations are still up. The "rule" which gets broken quite often, is that Christmas should be put away by Groundhog day. Mom has stopped turning all the lights on, however, even though she would like to as the days are so dark and dreary! 21. No need to wallow, Spitster, you're not alone. Our huge tree is still up in the living room. Undecorated. Yep, she only got the job halfway done.

  22. My mum always takes ours down on Twelfth Night. Did you know it is supposed to be unlucky to take it down after then. To avoid the bad luck you have to leave it up all year. Maybe that is what your human is doing.

  23. Ours is still up and much taller than that- no need to be ashamed. You could always take it down for her-just kidding.

  24. Even my peeps took the tree down last weekend although the Christmas tablecloth is still on.

  25. No reason to be embarrassed! If your human is enjoying it, that's what is important. Our tree always comes down promptly on December 26th so we are envious that you're still enjoying it.

  31. You're not alone, Spitty. Our humans got the tree up late, so it gets to stay up a few more days. Truth be told, we all enjoy having it up -- and love sleeping under it. :)
