Hang on Spitty - isn't there a published schedule for meal times? You know, specific times for pre-breakfast nibbles, breakfast, morning tea, lunch, afternoon tea, pre-dinner snacks, dinner, supper and midnight feasts? If so, I think it's fair that you be expected to wait until the scheduled time for whatever meal it is that's next on the list. If, on the other hand, your human is running late with one of your meals, or - heaven forbid - is attempting to skip one of them, then you're absolutely right to challenge her. This is something that you should not be asked to tolerate.

Our Mom had a bad night last night and was very late with our food this morning. Even after I woke her a 6 am with all kinds of kisses all over her face. She kept telling me wake Dad up to feed us, but she's the only one that does it right. She finally woke up at 10 am. and fed us some extra stinky goodness.
