Sunday Selfie:
Apparently, I'm a Bad Boy

After 16-1/2 years of being completely trustworthy with regard to Christmas trees, I chose December 26, 2020, to decide that batting the ornaments around might be pretty darn entertaining.

So I did. Bat. Bat, bat. Bat bat bat. Batbatbatbatbatbat.

The Human was not amused, and I was bodily removed and spoken to very disrespectfully. In fact, she got downright shirty with me.

Spitty this, Spitty that, blahblahblahblahblah. To tell you the truth, I stopped listening once she took that tone with me.

Can you blame me?

  1. I don't blame you at all, Spitty. For 16 years, you've shown extraordinary restraint - and what have you got in return? A big fat nothing. So, have a lash, I say, if only to see what happens! The "blahblahblah etc" doesn't sound like a lot of fun. But, perhaps you could explain to her that if she behaved well - and invested her time and effort totally on your needs and desires - then you would replicate! Over to her.

  2. I bet you had a lot of fun. The human will soon get over it. I hope she was able to fix the tree.

  3. Well what did she expect if she keeps putting all those enticing toys in front of you every year! I put little unbreakable bells all around the bottom of the tree to keep Eric amused. Flynn always insisted on climbing up through the middle though, so the good decorations didn't get added.

  4. Well, at least you waited until after Christmas, Spitty. We'd say that makes you a GOOD boy. Kind of.

  6. Sheesh!!!! I would have thought that the tree was for cats!
After all, why else would it have dangly things for us to play with on it?!!
Just wait until she leaves the room...

  7. Nope, don't blame you at all. You were only batting things, not breaking them. Sheesh, you are a cat, we cats bat stuff.

  9. Spitty, you definitely should be credited for your 16 and one half years of restraint !

  10. I love this photo- it would make a perfect Christmas card. She should be happy you are still so playful at your age- not that you are old. Emmy sends kisses. XO

  12. Waydaminit. For 16 years you never bothered the tree and now this year you did a little batting and she complains? She should be grateful for the 16 years that you never touched the tree.

  13. Hey, can she not appreciate that you did not touch those balls for ALL those years????? Ungrateful humans.

Hoped you had a great Christmas.

  14. They look like cat toys to me, Spitty - I don't blame you for poking around in them.

  15. Silver still has to live down the year him and sisfur Miranda kept climbing the tree. Mum got only FOUR ornaments (she keeps telling in that part....) on the tree before she and dad had to give up.

Toulouse hasn't toppled our tree... yet...

  16. I should have thought she would be happy that you FINALLY paid some attention to her decorating efforts at Christmas! But no - she berates you for attempting to make friends with the decorated tree. Well, hopefully the punishment you received was offset by a showering of gifts upon you from Sandy Paws?????

  17. After all the good behavior you want to have a little fun one time and you get "that voice." Simply off the charts Spitty

  18. Spitty, do you really think Santa will remember what you did 364 days from then? And if your human is anything like ours, she won't remember either!! MOL!
