And Just Who Was It , Human....


that gave you purrmission to pet me while I was a-sleeping? I will allow that it did feel nice, but  I find it disturbing that you are taking such liberties on a more frequent basis. This is a development to which King Spitty must devote further Royal Study. He might even need to consult some of his Royal Subjects on the topic. We'll see. Meanwhile, I will be closing my eyes again very soon. Just so's you know.

Once again, Kitties, you have proved your awesome Smartypants-ness. 
Too many of you to list found the correct solution to our little word puzzle yesterday. The answer depends on seeing the word "number" not as a noun or verb referring to numerals, but as the comparative form of the adjective numb. 
Once that hurdle was overcome, the answer was clear:  My palm's number than my five fingers.

 N.B.  After some research (thank you Google!) regarding the comparative and superlative degrees of "numb," I find that numb-number-numbest is cited by several sources, pointing out that context should easily differentiate it from "number" (numeric). However, all of those same sources say that "more numb" is perfectly acceptable, perhaps even more graceful, and avoids the ambiguity. Alas, "more numb" ruins the puzzle ;-)

    Spitty, you cannot blame your human for petting you while you sleep.. when else can she? it's the only time I can pet Leo's tummy... The little brat. Maybe if you weren't so stinking adorable you wouldn't have this problem. Alas, nothing can make you less wonderouosly gorgeous, so you're stuck.

    Sleeptime pats are a conumdrum. They do feel good, but they can be distrubing. Humans must have the proper slow and calm technique.

    King Spitty, you just have to accept that you are infinitely pettable and you need to give your human a break. besides, a few little favours to them and then there's mega rewards for you in the food bowl department. You have to allow your human some indulgences, and you do look most cute and soppy - in that very noble, royal way of yours.
