He left the military at the end of the war; he never felt he'd done any more than his duty and believed those on the other side had done the same. He lived the rest of his life as the generous and peace-loving man he was, and though he died more than 30 years ago, the Human thinks of him often and knows she could not have had a better father.
My human and I are thankful for your human's father's service. "Doing his duty" means so very much.

What a great post. TW's dad was in the Army Air Force during WWII. He was stationed in England, Scotland and Germany I believe.

ReplyDeleteSome of our male human's great uncles fought for the United States in Europe during WWII, and his father was in the USMC. His nephew is currently in the USAF.
We are so thankful for the selfless service of all of our veterans.
