(Not Very) Wordless Wednesday: The Birds

The other day, the Human and her friend went for a nice (masked, socially-distant) walk near Spreckels Lake, along the northern edge of Golden Gate Park. These big ole Canada Gooses were planted in the sun and sullenly refused any urging to Step Aside. Tippy-toeing oh-so-carefully, the Human and her friend gingerly zig-zagged their way through the flock without being pecked to death. It was all a little too Hitchcockian for her.
And to be honest, for me too, even just in a picture.

  1. They do look quite intimidating when gathered together in such a large herd, Spitty - I'll grant you that. And not a one of 'em sporting a mask!

  2. Spitty, those geese can be VERY nasty, so your mom must have good mojo to have made it through that bunch in one piece!
If this was the olden days, she would have made some goose pate' for you outta those beasties!

  7. Gosh that's a goose-a-rama gathering isn't it. Glad your Mom and her friend walked gingerly among them because they sure can poop up a storm! :)

  8. That is a lot of geese to have to walk through! There are several hundred geese that live on the marshes close to us. They used to only come in the winter but now live here all year round. They fly over every morning and night and make a terrible racket. Thankfully they don't land in our fields, or worse still, in my garden!

  13. That is quite a gaggle. Did the geese hiss at your mom and friend? When Mom and Dad go to feed the ducks and geese, the geese will hiss at them if they are not fast enough with the noms. Looks as if it was a pretty day for a walk. XOCK, angel Lily Olivia, angel Mauricio, Misty May, Giulietta, angel Fiona, Astrid, Lisbeth, Calista Jo, Cooper Murphy and Sawyer with 💋💋💋 from Misty May

Leave me a meow or a hiss; I don't mind a hiss or two. . . or even a bitey.
