The Human came across this in an archaeological dig through a drawer she rarely visits. Evidently her mother, who would have been 18 at the time, deemed it worth saving and apparently the Human has been too l-a-z-y to clean out a random drawer full of junk treasures.
Postage was a penny, & the movie 30 cents for adults and a dime for kids. Of course, the average hourly wage was about 50 cents in 1936, so it took about two hours to earn enough to take the family to the show.
Come to think of it, maybe not very different from now after all.

Wow! My human LOVES stuff like this! For a few years, she wrote synopses of vintage films for the All Movie Guide online. Nothing past the 1930s, and mostly obscure 1920s films. She lived at the AMPAS's Margaret Herrick Library and loved it.
My mum says it is interesting to find something really old like that. I just think it would be good to nap on.

On a related note, Mom's friend and her husband went to see Cinderella and they really enjoyed it. I think mice turning into footmen etc would be kind of scary.

Don't you have toys and stuff hidden under furniture or appliances? This is just the human equivalent. I don't think this is as fun as what you and I might have stashed, but my mom thinks it's pretty cool.
