Washies

Washies are so nice in the sun. Sadly, we have not even seen the sun
in, like, elebenty weeks and I haven't had a really satisfying baff since.

Please Ignore the Soundtrack
Shhhhh, CNN
You Are Done Speaking Now

Just once, couldn't I have a proper soundtrack? "Start Me Up"
or "Gimme Shelter" or sumfing?

A Grand Outing with Miss Salem

Sometimes a LadyCat with 12 brothers and sisters needs a little getaway
with a certain ManCat-About-Town who appreciates her voluptuous beauty.
I picked the Glorious Miss Salem up just outside Vegas
and away we sped for a nice afternoon in the Grand Canyon.
We came to rest beside a placid stream and had a Grand picnic of trout and beef jerky. We dipped our delicate pink tongues into the water and had a refreshing drink, after which we curled up in the shade for a comfortable nappy.
I snuck her back onto the Catio just in time for dinner
with a little memento of our special day, and sped away home,
feeling oddly lonesome in the Furrari
Au revoir, ma petite chérie!

Clearly, it is time for more trips!

See You Soon

We are taking a brief
Blogcation
for a few days and hope to catch up
on visiting over the weekend.

N.B. *I* do not approve of this but sadly have no thumbs.
Sigh. It's always something.

Pardon Me for Asking

but are these the sweetest little curled-up paws you ever saw?

Wednesday, July 24, 2013

Why, Yes, As a Matter of Fact . . .

this is the chair I slept on
while you were gone:
And your point is?

How Much Is That Kitty in the Window?

If you have to ask, you can't afford me.

Monday, July 22, 2013

She's ♫ ♫ Hoooooooooooome!

If you promise not to tell anyone, I'll tell you a secret:
                              I missed her.

Where in the World Is My Human?

So, how old are the people who play with these pool toys?
Trust me, you don't want to know--they are much
closer to Medicare than they are to preschool
Life is tough there in the Valley, eh? The Human is far
too exhausted to go all that way into the house. In fact,
she feels a little like Goldilocks and the Four Chaise Lounges.
Honestly, I had to come peek in on them to make sure
they weren't disporting themselves in any way that
might prove an embarrassment to me.
I was so stealthy the shot is a bit blurry--
kinda like snapshots of Bigfoot, don't you think?

No, My Human Is Not This Kray-Kray

She only watches while the really kray-kray ones jump off cliffs.
I ask you, Kitties, can you even imagine any of US
doing anything as wacky as this? No, well, I thought not.

Wasted Days & Wasted Nights

The Human has left me for four days. I couldn't find my Nip. So sue me.

Thursday, July 18, 2013

Moi? Of Course!
What? You Gotta Problem with It?

So the Human has been wondering why I have been spending
so many happy hours on her bed, even when she's IN it ferhevvinsake.
Furiends, if you look carefully, you will see the answer:
I am systematically dismantling her nice bedspread.
And there you go. Simple, wasn't it?

Spooky Cat Wants to Hear Your Secrets

And you know you want to tell him your juiciest one.
Like that time you stole the ham slice,
or where that hairball went after your Human
heard you horking in the night,
or where you left the diamond ring
when you were finished batting it around.

C'mon now, confession is good for the soul.

Slightly Wordy Wednesday

Oh hello, Human
I see you followed me here,
to the bedroom, where I brought
blue mousie for a little
Private Party.

But now I see
I must endure
this flashy box session
like a Good Boy,
until you go
and we can be alone
once more.

N.B. from the Human: For just a day, I am going to test the "embedded" comment format as I want to experiment with being able to reply to comments. If it causes problems for anyone, could you send an email to spittythekitty@live.com because if it creates problems for people kitties commenting, we'll switch right back!

Oh All Right, If You Insist

Okay, okay, I'm not really in the mood right now,
but I can see you want me to play with you
so I will give it a half-hearted effort
just to make you happy, Human, because you control the food.
And, seriously, because you do try hard. I get that.

Same Ocean, Different Town
Same Beddy, Different Day

Don't you love how the sun is shining only on me
It's, like, a miracle or sumfing, don't you think so?
The Human says this is Pacifica, not San Francisco, but I say
the ocean looks the same wherever you take the picture.

And I am skeptical of your doings, Human. I call shenanigans.

Sunday, Pinky Sunday

Go ahead--admit it:
You want to plant kissies all over my sweet widdle heddy
don't you?
Well, all I can say is: Don't even think about it, Pal.
Under these artfully curled pawsies are 10 sharpies,
just begging for some action.

SF's Natural A/C

When she left work (in the Mission/Noe Valley area) today, it was warmish. But by the time she hit the top of the 17th Street hill, this greeted her.* And by the time she got home, another three-quarters of a mile, there was not a speck of blue to be seen. In a rare meeting of the minds, the Human and I hate the hots and love our glorious fog!

* Not to worry. She did not take this while she was driving. She parked (all right, all right, yes: illegally) and got  out of the car.

Risky Bidness

I know I am at considerable risk of cuddliness happening if I plant myself here on the desk. However, I know there is an equal--or even greater--chance that that closed drawer will open and my beloved pink brushie will emerge.

And did it?

Of course it did!

P.S. The Human has been a little under-the-weather and a lot uncooperative! We are sorry we've been a little scarce. We should be back on track tomorrow!

Not-A-Garden Tour #Elebenty-Sebben

So the Human and her friend went for a beach walk today.
They were surprised to find that a Hansel and Gretel
with a sweet tooth had left a trail for them!
This house across from the Great Highway features seahorses,
palm trees and a mural banner that reads "Peace & Joy."
I ask you, who could argue with that?
The sandy trail offers the most scenic route but the Humans
got tired of trudging and sought out the paved path
for part of their walk.
Perhaps a color-blind tribute to The Gator, SF State's mascot--
the school's colors are purple and gold.
I joined them briefly for a mid-afternoon snack. The Giant Litter Box was fun, too.

Raindrops on Roses . . .

A few weeks ago my furiends Katie Isabella and Nerissa gave me this spiffy award and I thank them for thinking of me! The rules say the recipient must name six things he likes and then pass the award along to some unspecified number of kitties. Myself, I am choosing three as I think many kitties have already received this--since it took my Human forever to help me post this ::glares in her direction::

I've had to put on my thinking cap real hard to think of SIX things I actually like, but here goes:

1. Easy peasy: My pink brushie when it's in use on my furs
2. My Human when she is using the pink brushie.
3. Whiskas. Most flavors, but I am very unpredictable, so she must buy them all just in case I turn on one or the other and decide I don't like it anymore. So then she gives the remaining cans to her friends and then I decide I *do* like it after all and send her out to buy more.
4. My hammick. My beddies. Naps.
5. People and woofie and pigeon TV out the windows. I almost never see other kitties.
6. All LadyCats.

So, I am to send this on now. Here are the three recipients I choose:

The Lovely Star at Celestial Kitties
My Buddy Austin at CATachresis
The Glorious Tutu at Whisppy

N.B.  We know awards can be pesky things sometimes (yeah, Human--how many have we not posted about recently? ::glares again::) so feel free to post or not. Also, if you are a Kitty who does not yet have this award, feel free to take it!

Any takers? CK? Anykitty?

Oops! Sorry 'bout that.
CK has claimed her pillow.
Nite all. Purr.

Not A Garden Tour #Elebenty-Six

So the Human and her friend took a nice stroll
at Crissy Field on Wednesday (thereby cleverly
avoiding the bajillions who will do so Thursday).
They enjoyed watching some of the America's Cup
entrants practicing, making a nice contrast
with the somewhat clunkier container ships sharing the Bay today.

There were eight of these ginormous and strange sculptures
lining the path along the shore. Apparently, they also located
some parts I've been missing for almost a year!

Of course the blessed fog rolled in to provide
SF's natural air conditioning as well as the soundtrack
that accompanies most afternoons and nights.

Have a Glorious Fourth

To Climb, or Not to Climb

                                                               . . . . . that is the question:
Whether 'tis Nobler in the park to suffer
The Slings and Arrows of outrageous Mockery,
Or to take Paws against my Sea of cowardice,
And by ascending tame it: to climb, to seek
The top; and by this climb, to find the end
Of faint-heartedness, and the thousand Natural shocks
That Fur is heir to? 'Tis a consummation
                                                              Devoutly to be wished.

It looks kind of high though. I think I'll just have a nappy instead.

D'ya Mind?

I appreciate the nice pictures you take of me, I really do, and I love my Blog. But I am feeling so warm and comfertabuls here, I wonder if you'd mind so very much going away now and letting me sleep for a while longer here, squeezed on this narrow but adequate sill?

There, see now? You've got your pictures, I've got the sunpuddle. Everybody's happy.

You may notice, Dear Readers, something of a change in tone from, say, last Friday's post. You might even be asking yourselves, "Is there something wrong with Spitty?"

Well, let me hasten to assure you nuffing at all is wrong with me! I am simply taking a page out of my furiend Austin's (the Big Softy!) book and showing my sweeter side. I am, after all, a Manly enough ManCat to reveal my inner marshmallow to all and sundry.
