Nom Emergency!

Kitties! You would not believe what happened to my foods this morning!

The Human picked up my tray, piled with my little crunchies dish, two wet food plates (I scored some extra last night), and my water bowl*.

As she made her way to the kitchen to clean and replenish, the clumsy wench bumped a door jamb, juggled wildly and failed to regain control.

Everything tumbled and clattered to the floor and my (plain white) water bowl shattered. Best of all, the remaining food bits landed damply on the hallway carpet, the white bowl splintered into a billion tiny pieces, and water splashed everywhere and seeped into the rug.

Ha ha ha! What fun it all was to watch her obsessively pick up every eensy white shard, for fear I would come eat them! As if I have a death wish! Come on, Lady. Really?

(*Not, thank Bast, my specially hand-made one
from The Cat on My Head--as you can see
in the picture, it is whole and water-filled. Whew!)

My human would have done the same thing about picking up every last shard. I have to admit, we kitties here can't really be trusted with anything on the floor.

Oh dear, Spitty. That was a mini-crisis. I hope your Human gave you extra breakfast to help comfort you after the fright.

Disaster. And carpets are evil.

Big glass bowl dropped here yesterday - shattered glass flows like liquid - Äiti HATES it. She thinks it is safe for our paws now

OH MY! MY mommy said she has had similar terrible things happen with shattered glass or china all over the floor and obsessively cleaning so that I don't get hurt. Then there is the mess either liquid or food or worse still both.

We hope that means you get a new food and water bowl! Fancier, of course...

While we would probably eat anything that fell on the floor, we would probably stand clear for a bit.
That would be to make sure mom was not about to drop anything else, especially on us!
Good to hear your fave bowl is safe and there were more dishes for your noms!

Oh my goodness, we scatter when something like that happens!

That sounds like a bit of a bad event for your human. My Mom can just picture the mixture of broken shards and water mess making it impossible to vacuum up. I don't think humans too much have to worry about us eating shards (we are not THAT dumb) but those sharp bit ties could get into our paws and that would be bad bad bad.

Really, Lone Star Cats said it exactly: so long as there were more bowls left for the noms.

I am glad your Mom is so cautious to make sure you are safe.

Oh gosh... that really is quite the ordeal. Glad your mom was able to clean up the mess without anyone getting hurt! Purrs from Deb and the Zee/Zoey Gang

Holy hello kitty that was close! Glad you survived. Did she drag out the giant Suck Monster after that? Glad you are OK and hope the human is not bruised.

Your poor human. My mom has done things like that too and she's obsessive about cleaning up - sweeping, vacuuming, damp mopping to get all the shards off the floor. thankfully, your good dishware wasn't damaged.

Our mom is getting increasingly clumsy too. We put it down to her rapidly advancing age.

Glad your special water bowl is OK, Spitty. My mom would obsess over the glass also.

Yikes! We're glad no kitty was harmed in the melee.

Spitty, Mom Mary sounds like our mom who is so super clumsy. She hasn't broken any of the bowls she's made us but she has chipped a couple. She's always tripping and kicking and breaking our bowls or smacking them on the edge of the kitchen counter. The worst part of the entire affair for you is that some of your noms were lost. Whoa! I missed this bit of news! When the peeps break something, they run to get the sucky box to make sure they pick up every piece so I don’t step on anything sharp. It’s more about the vet bills than ME I’m sure.
