Stalkerati, Redux

Okay, I guess you probably figured out there was no post last night. Now, that is not terribly unusual these days, I am sad to report. From a high of 368 posts in 2012 we dropped to an abysmal 306 posts in 2014. But even that year, the veritable nadir of our productivity, we had 214 posts by September 1, instead of the paltry 211 we are currently sporting.

The fact is, the Old Bat just ain't what she used to be. I can't count on her to help me with the blog like she used to, and I can't even count on her to *be* here to play with me and cuddle me and keep me company as much as I would appreciate either.

Last night, for example, was "Back to School Night" (as if any adult in his or her right mind wants to spend two tedious hours listening to a bunch of teachers natter on at them)! Didn't they have enough of that when they were teenagers themselves? Frankly, I think the Human was probably talking to herself. Which, come to think of it, isn't much different from what she does all day long with those kids anyway.

Anyway, now she's stalking me. It's sort of flattering in its way, I suppose. But I need to hold out long enough to keep my self-respect intact. Don't you think so?

We have a similar problem, Spitty. Our Old Bat has been on the blog decline for eons, and by the time we get back, she'll be even older! We should probably just rename our blog to Cats n' Bats.

We know the problem so well, and Äiti works far less insane hours than your Human. Pöh.

Absolutely Spitty - it's critically important that you consistently communicate to your Human that your needs outweigh hers, that she continues to be a disappointment as far as staff goes, and that it's only your generosity of spirit in the face of her pathetic attempts to make it up to you from time to time that causes you to allow her remain in situ. She must must must lift her game, otherwise she's out.
She's clearly not the brightest bulb in the chandelier - evidenced by how long it takes her to learn things - so keep your communications unambiguous and express yourself in the most straightforward of ways.
Good luck to you my friend. We're all cheering you on.

Oh, you should totally hold out, Spitty! Not that I do anything of the sort. The moment my human returned from her Hollywood film watching for the day, I showed my face about a split second after Binga, who somehow always manages to be first.

Hold out long enough that she feels guilty and makes with the gerbers!

Playing hard-to-get is the only way to respond to such antics! We're with you 100 %, Spitty. The humans do become more and more useless the older they get. XOCK, Lily Olivia, Mauricio, Misty May, Giulietta, Fiona, Astrid, Lisbeth and Calista Jo

It's the same thing here. We used to blog daily for several years, now it is twice a week, or if I am very lucky, 3 times.

I hope you didn't give in pal. You need to teach her a lesson. Although I should not talk because things have fallen apart here too and I don't even get my meals on time anymore. Ever since the peeps moved into this retirement place, it's like they are on permanent tiredment!!!They have the nerve to actually leave the apartment to get their own meal before feeding me!!!!

Spitty, we're gonna tell you something but don't tell your human. As long as you blog, we don't really care how often you do it. But keep putting the pressure on your human, okay?

Spitty, you're way ahead of us, pal. Our human only posts about two times per week. But definitely hold out a little -- that's always fun. :)
