The Intruder Returns: I Think I Like Him Now

So Cousin Jim, the Intruder, was here this week. For whatever unknowable reasons, I decided that he's not so bad after all.

In fact, I played with him, hung out with him, even attempted to sleep with him. But he pushed me off the bed.

Twice.

Still, mostly he was very nice and friendly to me.

After he left, I was all tuckered out, and even a little melancholy. But the Human petted me and told me what a very good boy I am, and then I took a nice nap and forgot all about him.

Such a good kitty, Spitty! But he wouldn't let you sleep with him...what is wrong with him?!?

He played with you, that is good. When uncle Stormie comes to visit he shuts the door so I can't even try to get in to sleep with him.

We're glad to hear you've decided you don't mind this guy. We are a little perturbed he wouldn't let you sleep with him!

Spitty, you were being so good with your guest. How dare he not let you sleep with him. You were being so nice. Good thing you can take a long cat nap now. Thanks for the share. Have a great upcoming weekend.

Anyone who pushes you out of bed deserves a bitey- or two. I would be honored to share my bed with you. XO

I agree with others who've commented here Spitty - if this chap is gonna intrude into YOUR home, then he needs to understand that you sleep wherever you like, whenever you like and if he doesn't like it, that's just too bad.

Well, it's about time, isn't it? After all, you've known the Intruder for like a million years already!

P.S. Our mom won't let us sleep with her either so we're not finding this all that unusual.

Whoa! Just whoa! Your cousin Jim looks like Michael Stipe. You sure he isn't JMS? How dare he push you offa the bed—twice. You could have gotten hurt—twice.

Yeah, we are curious about the bed pushing off of...

TBT here: I often cat-sitted my parents' cat Jeremy back in the 90s for months while they visited Florida in the Winter.. He purred as loudly as a vaccuum-cleaner and I couldn't sleep at night. If I closed the bedroom door with him outside of it, he would get a paw under it and rattle it. And he actually clawed the door so badly it had to be replaced. I finally learned that if I just let him unner the covers and waited a half hour, he would quiet down.

The things you do for your parents...

I trust it wasn't that bad though? Or do tell...
