Sunday Selfie: Frying and Fretting

Oh hello, Kitties and Humans!

We have absented ourselves for a few days, as the weather has turned on us, and you know how we HATES the heat.

Plus, I am an Old Mancat now and do not do well at all in the Hots. I hasten to add that the Human is an Old Lady, and we both have our various ailments to contend with, none of which are improved by temps in the 90s, or Cod forbid, worser even than that. So while we have both been frying, she is the only one who has been fretting, mostly about moi, of course. We have reached that stage of the Human-Kitty relationship when she stares at me to make sure I am still breathing. ::eye roll::

Still, this morning I had quite a bit of food and, even better, drank quite enthusiastically at my water bowl. I had fun during morning Hallway Time.

Speaking of which, I have been largely successful in the past few days at getting Hallway Time on demand, though I have not yet shaken the Babysitter.

So that's the report from Chez Spittola. We are supposed to have one more day (Monday) of the Really Horrible Hots and then a few days of Warms before we return to our cooling ocean breezes and daily fog that creeps in on little You-Know-Whats!

Wes not fond of the hots either. Wes goes out in the evening and early morning.
Alex has a GIANT TV with all his video consoles down stairs and there is a spare bed he sleeps in when we has company. Wes likes to sleep in THAT bed during the day!

We have the AC on but the mom still has a electric fan on her. Too hot, we don't like it either. Stay cool and hydrated.

It looks like your explorations are going well, Spitty.
We had our hots in early May or thereabouts. Since then it has been mostly rain and low temperatures. We get a lot of fog here too but it doesn't always arrive on little cat feet. Sometimes it rolls in from the sea and up the river into the valley like a herd of marauding elephants.

Spitty we love seeing you roaming the halls and hope we have you for many a day to come my friend. The world needs Spitty Kitty in it to keep it on the even

Hmmm, Spitty. If your tempurratures there are "only" in the 90s (Furr 'n' Heat, We assume), then you are relatively lucky! You don't even want to KNOW what it was like here over the weekend!

Nice to see you Spitty. So you are so hot, but you are a hottie after all. XO

Spitty, we sure hope it cools down for you. It’s much cooler here...we wish we could send you some.

Okay Spitty - I've had another idea about your roaming adventures. How about venturing into the neighbours' apartments - just to check out their interior decorating so you can pass on some tips to your Human? I would have thought that some plaintive mews and minor scratching at the door would result in warm welcomes. You might even find that the Humans within are good for some fresh chicken or prawns!

Spitty, my Mom sometimes stares at me the same way your stares at you and for the same reason. We have good humans to pay so close attention to us and worry.

Say, what songs do you sing in your hallway? Winks.

Those hots are just no fun, Spitty. We hope you and your human can hang in there just one more day. Those cools will be such a treat!

As you are probably aware, it is even hotter down here in SoCal! The lower floor of our house has way more air conditioning than the living room/ office part, and my human made a point to take 19-year-old Boodie downstairs, even though she seemed to want to hang out in the heat. No to that! It's bad enough me and my human have to deal with it.

Sorry you have the hots, we don't like them either. Nice to see a bit of your house.

Spitty, isn't it nice to know that she's watching you at all times?
That's LURV, my man.
Wish that heat would go away for you; I honestly don't know what I'd do in such high temperatures.

Oh Spitty - We all know how you and your human are suffering in this heat. The paper said it was 100 degrees in San Francisco yesterday and may well be just as hot today. And that's in a city where few homes have AC. We hope you at least have a fan. Yesterday the temp reached 111 degrees in Pittsburg although we do have AC. PG&E is making a bundle. Your excursions are wonderful but forget doing one on your own. The human would never allow it and rightly so. Stay well and drink lots of cold water. Hugs and kisses - Savannah, Sage, Katie and Pip (and our two humans of course)!

Spotty, its so hot here too our human could just well; spit! We will all be happy when it cools down except the freak Meezer who continues to lay in her heaty bed (NOT MissEsmes). OtOP, we have had fantastic cat TV! That woman sprang 4 bucks for 2lbs of giant peanuts in the shell. Each morning after watering all the plants and 6 bird baths she tosses handfuls on the grass. Bruce sespexially chats up the crows. Ethel prefers the Bluejays (especially when they talk back to each other in clicks and trills and sometimes warning growls). Myself? I wait for the SQUIRRELS! We now realize there's more than one of the adorable bastards but I run from bedroom window to slider door window to THRE GURLS (cave) window and back again (sometimes over human heads on pillows while they are laying under ceiling fans on the bed- they make the best squeelie noises). Anyway, gotta get back to it. xoxo Shio xoxo

Ahhhh........."Hallway on Demand" is a wonderful perk - heaven knows you've earned a few perks ! I sometimes have to do an extraordinary amount of pitiful whining and pining at the front door before one of my Humans gets off their - well - buns to go out with me. We usually do get what we scream for don't we Spitty?!

Hugs, Teddy

Spitty, I suddenly realized TBT was staring at me one day recently to see if I was breathing. That was kind of a surprise, but I AM 13 and I seldom leave the bedroom these days. Well, who would with crazy Laz around? ~ AYLA

I wish I could go out into the hall and maybe down to Z100 again. TW often looks to see if I'm breathing when I'm asleep.

Spitty, we will bake all day on the catio, but then we are accustomed to the heat. Our mom, however, is also old, and she does not tolerate it at all. We just think she’s a whiner. Glad those outs on demand are working. More kisses from Misty May. XOCK, angel Lily Olivia, angel Mauricio, Misty May, Giulietta, angel Fiona, Astrid, Lisbeth, Calista Jo, Cooper Murphy and Sawyer
