The Human Speaks

Hi Friends! Well I guess we confused everyone, didn't we?

For this to make any sense (Gigi: Rolls eyes and says, Too late for that!), I refer you to Savannah's Pawtracks' post on June 7 ("Another wounded castle guest"). In it, she tells the story of a lovely tabby boy named Buddy and how Mom L and Dad P and their friend saved him.

Now, Buddy was destined to join Gigi at this castle, and I got the silly notion to do some stoopy convoluted riddle about "Peggy Sue" and Buddy Holly and who knows what all, and it was pretty much a giant fail. (Gigi says, Told you so. These people and kitties are not all Old as Dirt like you, Lady.)

In any case, indeed Buddy arrived here Wednesday, and earlier this afternoon passed the 48-hour mark. He has taken up residence Under The Bed, although today he actually emerged while I was in the room to eat his lunch. He kept a beady eye on me, and slunk back UTB when he finished. He is understandably rattled by the events of the last 2-3 weeks. But he is an indoor boy now.

This is the only picture I have gotten since he arrived. It was taken Wednesday night, and it's not very clear. What *is* clear is his skepticism about his new Human.

We'll post again when there's some action around here. And I'll return the controls to Gigi, who is somewhat miffed that she's not been allowed in *her* bedroom to see what's up in there.

Welcome to the Budster ! We hope he realises that UTB is not the only safe space in the Castle and that he and Gigi will be bestest pals. And we know Spitty would approve for sure, because already the Human is bending to your (plural) every move.

Welcome to your new and wonderful forever home, Buddy!

Even if it takes him a while to warm up, it's worth it. My human won't tell you how long it took Boodie to figure out that humans were her friends.

Well I didn't see that coming! I should have though because you were earlier talking about adopting two kittens or rescues. Welcome Buddy!

Well, I got the Peggy Sue reference ('cos I'm almost as old as dirt!) but I couldn't see any connection whatsoever to Gigi. NOW I understand.

Spitty would be rather smug to know that he had to be replaced by two kitties! LOL

I've been over to Savannah's blog post and Buddy looks quite the chap to have onboard. Looking forwarding to Gigi letting him 'have a go' on the blog.

And, Mrs Human, you do realise, don't you - you're not only one cat short of becoming a Crazy Cat Lady.

Oh my! Welcome Buddy! UTB is the best place to gauge your new home from....you can get used to the smells and the lay of the land....and keep an eye on the cat known as Gigi until you think you can trust her. Just FYI, I'm SURE you can trust her so come on out and see what a great new home you have Buddy. You and Gigi will be ruling the roost. Sending you a WELCOME hug.

Love, Teddy

We just read the post about his wound and recovery. Poor sweetie has been through a lot! He looks like a real love, though, from the cuddle pics!

Welcome, Buddy! We wish you a happy, long life in your forever home!

I started singing "Peggy Sue" and then had that stuck in my head but I didn't realize what the connection was ... so I guess I'm old as dirt and therefore slow?? ha ha
what wonderful news for you all! I'm looking forward to the day when there is more to tell!!

Welcome, Buddy. Before we say more, our mom got a good giggle about this statement: he actually emerged while I was in the room to eat his lunch… no wonder he emerged. He was trying to save his lunch from Mom Mary! MOL, anyhoo, we are delighted to know that you now have a furever home, Buddy. We cannot wait to hear more about you, and we pray that you and Gigi become great friends. Well isn't he gorgeous! I sure hope he turns Miss G's head! What a darling match of Felines 🐈
I must disagree with Miss Megan tho, 3 cats does not a CCL make. I firmly believe you need double digits for that honorific. I say that as I only have 5 and I'm as sane as next person! Really! I swear! Don't give me that look!

BUDDY! I was waiting and here you ARE! Welcome! Spitty whispered to me , Katie, that he was very well pleased with Gigi and his momma. I have't asked him about Buddy yet but I feel I already know he will be happy that a mancat is there again.

Buddy will settle in by his own time frame. When our Buddy moved in he immediately went into the linen closet and when he had enough of that, after a week, went under my desk for a few more weeks. One day I was having lunch and he just walked out pretty as you please, came up to me and allowed head rubs. Cats will when they want, right Gigi
