Caturday, UTT

Now you see me . . .
. . . and now you don't.
(I'm still having a little trouble forgiving the Human for, well, you know.)

Chillaxin'

Yes, Kitties, I definitely got to cool my heels today as the Human spent 15 hours at her job, instead of home taking orders from me as she should. It was Back-to-School Night for parents, so those poor, long-suffering people had to spend two hours listening to the whining drone of teacher after teacher--really, it's cruel and unusual punishment for them. Did they perhaps earn one detention too many during their own schooldays that they should be forced to sit and endure chemistry and English and algebra after a long hard day at their own jobs?

The Human tried hard to be scintillating, but honestly, what were the chances? It's bad enough when she bores her students but it's really sinful when she starts in on the grown-ups.

We will be around to visit you tomorrow, my Furry Furiends. The Human claims she's too 'zawsted. Sigh.

"I'm Ready for My Close-Up, Mr. DeMille," or, "What the Heck Are You Doing, Human?"

It was evening
The room was dim
Neither I nor the Human really like the flash

Now, a sensible person would have just waited till daytime.
But noooooooooooooooooooooooo.

Out came a little flashlight to add a bit of peculiar illumination to my furs.

Oh yeah, that'll work.

P.S. Terri, our furiend, You are so sweet to visit so often & we luff your comments. You needs a blog so we can visit back!  XOXOXO

Lipstick Award

When my Woofie Friend (oxymoron alert!) Mollie gave me this award a few weeks ago, I thought: How can I, glamorous though I am, appear in my very own blog in lipstick, of all things?
I mean, I know I've been tutored, I know I live in San Francisco, but still: A ManCat Has  His Standards.

And then it came to me: The Lipstick did not need to be on my L-I-P-S. A willing LadyCat or three (you know who you are) helped me display my nice Awardie while still maintaining a semblance of dignity.

Thanks, Girls, for helping this ManCat out!

Thanks, Mollie, this turned out to be a fun award!

Dillon

On Sunday the Human went to a birthday party near Santa Cruz, where she met Dillon, her dear friend's foster kitten.
Dear Friend lives in Oregon and Dillon is her fourth foster--she's had him since he was barely three weeks. Next week the poor, unsuspecting little guy will get tutored ::shudder:: and then he'll be ready to be 'dopted.
The Human's friend swears she is not keeping him herself, but the Human swears she sees the Mad Glint of Kitten Lust in Friend's eyes...so who knows, really?
Dear Friend and her husband have had as many as seven kitties at once, but they are currently down to only one, and Nigel is getting to be an older ManCat (he might be about 17 now?), so the Human thinks  (and, in a rare, universe-shattering moment of agreement, I do too) that maybe  the time is ripe for a new addition. Plus, then she'd get to see this little guy some more. He's unbelievably fun and frolicsome!
NB: That pillow is actually embroidered with fern leaves, but I think Dillon imagines they are previously-consumed fishies, MOL! After all, the Pacific is only a mile or two away as the crow flies kitten pounces!

Relaxicat

I seem to have recovered from my horrifying experience and am feeling pretty unstressed and calm these days. The Human says the dangly-foot is a sure sign I am chillin' and not holding a grudge. Well, she may be right, or I may just be lulling her into a false sense of security. That remains to be seen.

I did make a little "Naughty" tick mark against her name in my Book today as she 'bandoned me for the whole day to attend a birthday gathering in another city. There was a Kitten there with whom she cuddled and snorgled. I am told photographic evidence exists. I have not yet seen it, but I am led to believe "Dillon" will make a guest appearance tomorrow. Hmmm.

Happy Labor Day, Kitties! On this fine holiday, please allow your Humans to labor for your benefit!

Shhhhhhhhh

I'm conducting Aaron Catland's Fanfare for the Common ManCat in my nappy dream. Right now I'm concentrating on getting the timpani part just right.

Hope you are having an Easy Sunday also.
