This is the Human's Dad, a Marine who fought bravely in the South Pacific during WWII and then occupied Nagasaki after the atomic bomb was dropped. He survived the war and lived out his life as an honorable and peace-loving man.
He died many years ago, but the Human still misses him and thinks of him with love and gratitude.

Purrs to your human, Spitty. And thank you to all of our Vets today and always.
Interestingly, I featured a Marine who served in the South Pacific on my blog today! Although I doubt he and your human's dad ever crossed paths.
We thank all the veterans and those currently serving for protecting our freedom! They are true heroes!

What a nice, nice post, Spitty. Now my mom wants to post a picture of her dad in uniform, too. You know she'll forget by next year, so we'll just reflect on your post for a bit.
Gentle purrs to your human as she remembers her dad. That woman's dad has been gone since '74 when she was just a young 'un.
Now, Spitty, it's a full moon. Let's run the fangs out, and scare a few out of their skins!
Taffy and that woman
