Yes, yes, I know: It's really TBT (ThrowBackThursday) but since I am King, I hereby declare FlashBackFriday. This is the first picture I ever posted on my blog, on April 14, 2010. You could look it up. Go ahead. I'll wait.
Okay then, so that was exciting, wasn't it? I was only SIX then (like King P is now) and I still had my very important you-know-whats. Ah, those were the days!
But Glogirly had not yet declared me King so I hardly suspected the greatness that lay in store.
In other news, the hard drive the Human forked over $50 to have encased and make into an external drive so we could access all our wonderful files that we had spent so many years amassing? Yeah, well, not even worth one-tenth of one percent of that--yes, I am saying: Not worth a plug nickel. 99.9999% of the data on that drive is Gone, Baby, Gone.
Nice looking plastic case, though.
We hope to have the new computer in about two more weeks. (A digression: How hard would it be for Dell to make enough computers so it doesn't take like, three freaking weeks to get the one you ordered? Is there a real answer to that question? Don't they have a supply and demand algorithm?)

WTF??? And that stand for exactly whatever you imagine...does this mean you've lost YEARS of photos?
Mommy is shaking in her shoes. She's gonna do a top-secret double probation back-up FOR SURE!
And Spitty, we can't tell if you have the globes or not in the photo. Just sayin'.
Mommy also says that the way SHE got a computer quickly from Dell is that she appropriated DADDY'S!
Also, she says STUPID WINDOWS 8.
What a stud-muffin you were, Spitster!
Our Mommy too has wondered why it takes so long to get a Dell.
Happy Friday!
So THAT'S how you became a King? Somehow we thought there were quests and knives in rocks an stuff!
Love the old picture. ~ Iza-Lambie
You were a handsome man-cat from the beginning. And now, even without your you-know-whats, you're still a handsome mancat.
This might work: Put the HD in the freezer (wrap it in a baggie or something like that) for several hours before trying to recover anything from it. This has been known to work (seriously). If it doesn't, there is a great recovery tool my mom can recommend (try before you buy, but worth every penny if it looks like it's successful).
If the above suggestion does not work, then Ă„iti can suggest a few fun filled chemistry things to do. it won't get your data back but it might be fun.
You were a handsome little king-regent there. Awww!
There's practically no data on your hard drive? I think that would give my human a heart attack!
OMD Spitty she spat her tea out when she read the bit about nice plastic case though. BOL stupid external drive. Have a fabulous Friday.
Best wishes Molly
Hiya handsome!
Tell mom to buy a 3 terabyte external hard drive and use it immediately from not on forever. Have it back up every day.
Blah, that sucks indeed. We have a 2TB one and back up every month, just in case.
Yikes, what you describe is my worst nightmare! If I lost any of the photos of my kitties taken in the last ten years, I'd go ballistic! So, I purchased a super huge thumb drive, and make sure I save my photos there. There is only about eleventy million of them...
Spitty that happened with my mom's movies too, dad bought a hard drive to remove all the movies from the compawter and instead to send it to the external drive HE sent the datas to nirvana....SHEscreamed that the windows of our neighborhood splintered..... and my dad is glad that he still has you-know-what after killing all her beloved tearjerkers
OMC!! Long ago Mom L lost all her consulting business documents...stoopid computer geek wiped out her word docs. We feel the pain with you. We are getting ready to get a new computer...it ,ay be a Mac this time. And the way we get a Dell fast is we buy as Mom L's business and only buy Lattitude laptops, never Inspiron. That way it comes fast, and we get USA based tech support
We wondered how you became King (well, it was obvious we must say). Great pic Spitty.
Jeez, sorry about your computer. When Mom ordered hers online she got it the next day. No kidding.
Forgot to say it was from Dell.
You were a handsome kitty even then. We did not know that Glogirly was the one who dubbed you king. Don't get Mom started on computers. When Apple told her to wipe everything off her hard drive and start over...boy were they WRONG. All the files she downloaded to an external drive are locked, and she can't open them. Computers and computer companies! Ugh! XO, Lily Olivia, Mauricio, Misty May, Giulietta, Fiona, Astrid, Lisbeth and Calista Jo

Definitely buy an external hard drive to do your backups on! Oh dear Spitty we know how disappointing that is.
Yous look handsum as ever Spitty. As fur Dell, MOL Yous wuld fink, huh? Hav a gweat weekend.
Luv ya'
Dezi
That is a nice photo of you Spitty. Were you thinking of the day when you would become king?
That seriously sucks about losing all your data. My mum has automatic back up to her external HD once a week and also puts all her latest photos and files on it manually. She also backs up on memory sticks to be on the safe side.
Yow Spitty ya were so cute n den grew into a reegal mankat...
Sowwy ya loosed da data; so much fer tecknologee eh??
Yerz, Nylablue n Mum too
Dang Spitty, I thought you were born a King!
Mac is a lot faster than that. Love that photo. You were so young. MOL! Doesn’t your human back up to a thumb drive or the Cloud? TW gets a heart attack just thinking about losing stuff.
Guess ya wuz always good lookin!
Mum says don't buy a Dell. She swearsie that they make them to break after 3 years. She bought a different brand locally, ASUS, had it four years not. Not one bit of trouble!
Spitty Dearest,
At my house in Calgary there is 2 computers that is old and we don't use, 1 is my human brother's and 1 Mommy's, He also has a Apple laptop and a iPad. Mommy has 2 laptops (1 is a touch screen and one is not) a nook and a android tablet and they both has iphones. Back in BC Mommy still has her old laptop and a desktop computer, there is is old laptop with a broken Monitor that is attached to the TV and Daddy has 2 laptops (one is furry old), And Mommy is a fanatic about backing up things so now, so is my Daddy and my human brother. That means wes can always gets online, so long as wes can charge the batteries. (which we needed to do with all the trees taking down power lines this week). If wes lived closer, yous could use one of ours while yous waits.
Kisses Spitty
Ugg... computers... can't live with em... can't live without em!! Purrs from the Zee and Zoey Gang!
You are looking quite handsome! Computers....grrrr....
Hope you don't mind we are oogling the pictures of your Sweet Little Eggplant....!
Looking very handsome, King Spitty (even before you were the King)! We're very sorry to hear about all that lost data. :(
Oh my, Spitty!!! Was it US who declared you KING???
We are ever so honored. ...sorry about the *nuggets*... but seriously, you wouldn't want to be walking around with those things now would you?
Sorry about the computer woes.
Apple is the same way. If you want something special, it takes WAY too long.
They are all probably in cahoots with Facebook and using THEIR silly algorithm.
xo
I LOVE that picture of you in your Kingly robes and crown that GloGirly bestowed upon you at your coronation. We Royals ought to get together or somfing...
It didn't work? Awww... MOUSES!
Purrs,
Nissy
PS. BEAUTIFUL portrait of you. purrs
It is obviously that DELL doesn't realize whose computer order they are fulfilling. We are positive that if your human had dropped the name "Spitty" when placing the order, you would have your computer by now. Are you going to display your fancy encased hard drive in a curio cabinet?
HAHAHH!! We loves Glogirly's comment. We agree, human computer woes are RIDICULOUS.
