And Now for Something Completely Different

Kitties, perhaps I have grown a bit tedious on the topic of the weather? Yes? Well, all right, fair's fair.

So today we will tell you the story of the Human's dear friend Linda who did the Stoopiest Thing In All the World last Monday!

She swam in this:

This is a race in which you are unceremoniously dumped out under the south tower of the Golden Gate Bridge and you must swim or drown! Well, okay, maybe there are plenty of rescue boats hovering about, but still.

Here they all are, splashing their desperate way toward dry land. They are probably about 1/3-1/2 of the way to the finish.

And here they are at last, clambering out of the water, having cleverly avoided being eaten by the hungry sharks.

And here is the heroine of the day, Linda, with her very relieved husband Tom. She swam the 1.8 miles in just under an hour. Bravo, Brave Swimmer! You are awesome . . . a little crazy, but awesome!

I don't get it, pal. Did she do it for nip or toys or something?

Oh, wait, my mom says she gets it. Of course, she is a stoopy human too.

Well.

We are pretty sure that iffen we were dumped in the shark-infested water, we would have swam the 1.8 miles in about 1.8 seconds...

Not a little crazy, Spitty - a LOT crazy.

Yep, we disagree with the word 'little'. And we agree with the wisdom of Mark's Mews (as usual).

That's something my human isn't planning to do anytime soon. Or ever!

Swimmin' for her life! Glad she made it...but did a shark nibble at her toes at least?

Nope...not in this lifetime!

Hmmm, I didn’t see any sharks. TW would have drowned since she can’t swim to save her life. Gramma was scared of water so she never took TW near any beside the bathtub. Heh. Bravo to your friend.

Sometimes the humans have to do something a little bit crazy to stay sane, Spitty.

Mom is a good swimmer and swims all the time, but she says this looks like a spectator sport to her. Sharks or no sharks, she knows that water is COLD! Good job, Linda! XOCK, Lily Olivia, Mauricio, Misty May, Giulietta, Fiona, Astrid, Lisbeth and Calista Jo
