After some fruitless pleading to post last night, today I cuddled up with her for a nice afternoon nap (a recent behavior that is most excellent for bending the Human to my will).
You will perhaps be disappointed in me to learn that I have given in to this shameless Human-pleasing, kiss-up behavior, but honestly, the Humans do produce a very satisfying amount of body heat.
Why let it go to waste?
P.S. I am being allowed fine dining on the dining room table because of a persistent ant invasion. If she puts my food on the floor, it seems to attract about 9 squillion of the little beasts. Apparently the table is to them what Everest is to the Humans. Also, as much as I would like to think of the cheap plastic tray from Tar-jay as an enhancement of my dining experience, in reality it is there because the Human finds it easier to cope with my rather, shall we say, flingtastic? eating habits. But yes, I do have the luxury of eating at my leisure as there is no competition for my noms (well, except the ants).

Ewww on the ants....we had problems like that with our woofie's food. We ended up putting the food bowl in a pie plate filled with water. It stopped the ants.

Yuck ants. They could be tasty and loaded with protein. This article might help your human. don’t thiank me; thank TW. I don’t read this junk. http://www.purewow.com/home/natural-ways-to-get-rid-of-ants
Ants are the worst! My human had some ant people out to get rid of them, and then sealed their favorite entries. That seemed to help a lot.
Well, I think your dining on the dining table is perfectly acceptable. And, if extracting some warmth from the Human by cuddling up next her has the added benefit of making her happy, well, that's just a win-win: nothing for you to be ashamed of at all.

You're becoming a girt softie there, Mr Cuddles! Fed on a table away from the wild nasty insects, using a little tray so you can make as much mess as you like, and then velcroing yourself to the Human. Aw - sooooo cute.
And why not ? Body heat is a valued resource as is Human manipulation.
Those little boogers are such a pain but you've got the problem of meal time under control Spitty!
You sure do have everything all figured out! We hope you'll stop by our blog to learn about our upcoming book project - somehow we think you and your human might just have a story or two you could share!! Purrs from Deb and the Zee/Zoey kitties
Sorry about the ant problem, we have that happen about once a year too.....go figure? Tell your Mom Happy Mom's Day for us Spitty :)

Did you hire the ants to ensure fine dining?
We are being afflicted with a similar ant invasion and I'm not happy about it. They know where my food is and are all too happy to form a chain link to guide each other to my dish! Mom has discovered they won't, however, walk on our new oriental area rug in the kitchen so now I dine in antless oriental splendor. Happy Mom's Day to your Mom!
Hugs, Sammy
Look outside for ant hills! I used to have trouble with them in the cat food. Found where the ant hills were, purchased some outdoor ant bait and set it outside. No more ants inside :)
Happy Mother's Day to your Mom Spitty, I am sure you will be extra sweet to her today.
You shoulda come to my party. xox
Thank you for your kind words when our Bennette left for the Bridge.
Ohhhh, we have an ant invasion too. Mom made little moats for our food dishes, with a our bowls placed in a saucer of water. Ants don't like to swim.

Hi Spitty. We had trouble with ant invasion a long time ago. I now eat my foods in moat trays, where you can put water in the moat. They are plastic and just have a bowl in the centre part and a hollow around the edge where the water goes. I don't have the water nowadays, as the ants are not inside any more. Lynettea put a piece of honeycomb confectionery near their anthole outside, when she found it, and they decided to stay outside to eat it.

Spitty, we get the damnable ants every spring and summer. Dad killed a bazillion of them outside. A trick you can try with your food. Fill a bowl or pie plate larger than your food dish with a small amount of water. Set your food bowl in it. The ants usually won't cross the water to get to the food. You are looking particularly floofy and handsome today. Mau definitely hopes you will come to his wedding at Scouts. Ugh. Ants are so gross. But thanks to them, you're dining in style, Spitty!
Strange that this may seem, my peeps stood outside and gave the ants a good lecture on breaking and entering. Since then they havent come back. It may also have something to do with the spray peeps put down? Lovely selfie Spitty. PS its more eco friendly to use peeps spare heat. purrs ERin
