Well, Kitties, it has been forever! And this time there's an explanation in addition to laziness, which of course still played a role (surprise, surprise, surpriiiiise!)
Last week, our trusty 6-year-old Dell suffered a startling mental and physical collapse! So after recovering from the shock, the Human rolled out the elderly Chromebook and finally located a nearby guy who wonder-of-wonders believed in fixing things rather than simply landfilling them.
So after a week of fretting (her) and peacefully napping (me) we fetched it yesterday afternoon. And for less than $200, we has a clean, refreshed, repaired laptop with a new solid-state hard drive, restored data (ALL OF IT, and yay for that), and a bunch of other stuffs I don't understand. Also, Windows 10, which does not make her happy as she loved her Windows 7, which apparently Microsoft will no longer support after January, 2020.
The biggest casualty was Photoshop Elements, but the Human started practicing today with a free online version and so far she thinks it might work once she learns more. A lot more. I will let her figure all that out because for sure I know the problem is not with the always-handsome and photogenic subject of the photos.
Sometimes it's best to be the one without the thumbs, right, Kitties?

Humans! We put up with so much from them! Hopefully this little episode is over. Deedle on onedeedlebug.blogspot.com
We are glad that you are back online and ready to post. The human we know will get really good at the photoshop after some practice. Thanks for the share. Have a wonderful day.

I was worried by your silence, Spitty - but I consoled myself with the possibility that you were taking a summer holiday. No such luck for you. Still, it sounds as though your Human has dealt with this potential catastrophe very well. The switch from Windows 7 to 10 is a pain, but ... she'll get used to it in time. I'm very glad to hear that you spent your time wisely while you were unable to post - well done that man.

Hooray for the puter fixers Spitty and we all missed you!
Spitty! We were so worried! We're glad to hear you're OK, the Human is OK, and the laptop has been restored and repaired to its best.
Tell your Human that ours has a boxed copy (not in use) of Elements 8 that she is free to have if she wants--just let us know. It is a kinda old version but should work on 10 without any problems. (Mom still uses some sw from 1998 on 10!)
Welcome back! I missed you Spitty. XO
I hope your human gets back on track now!
No, it is not true that even computers need a holiday. Welcome back! Sorry about that Windows 10 thing. Ugh.
We were wondering where you went Spitty. Glad to hear everything's repaired and ready to go. Dad P had his Dell crash not long ago, and his computer wizard saved everything and loaded it back on the same kind of "solid" state hard drive your human now has. Speedy little devil it is too. See you soon!
Well you managed to escape the hullabaloo (Mom says that was an ancient TV program), you appear unscathed and wrapped securely in purple spendor snoring away. Life is good - again.
Hugs, Teddy

Spitty, the cat and laptop gods were on your side!
Just went through the same thing with two of my laptops - bummer on the Windows 7, though the computer place told me Microsoft MAY come out with an upgrade by the end of the year. Glad you were able to get your computer back and catch up on your naptime !
Well of course the problem is not you, Spitty. Pussycats are never where problems lie.
Can that fix-it man be cloned? Mom says, "I wish that there were more services available to fix things affordably. Unfortunately, it has become a throw-away society where people are encouraged to toss something out and buy new instead of getting it repaired." Thank goodness I know our humans won't toss us out when we get old and our bodies won't function as well as they did when we were younger. Purr purr purr.
Nice to hear from you, Spitty! Yay that your computer's back up and running!
Spitty ! Thank goodness you are back, I missed you and was getting a little worried if the hots had gotten to you. From TOASTY's human (a long time reader maybe 1st or 2nd time commenter )
