Fantasy Friday (Plus Fill-Ins!)

The Human, some years ago, in her natural habitat.

Why did they ever let her out?

******************************************************************
So here are our Friendly Fill-In responses for today, courtesy of our furiends at 15 & Meowing and Four-Legged Furballs:

1. I am always a Very Good Boy.
2. I brake for anything with a face.
3. I’d be lying if I said the Human was not basically a Good Egg.
4. Cheating usually wins the race.

(Oh, c'mon now! If I answered them all nicely you wouldn't even believe it was me!)

Throwback Thursday: BooBoo the Girl Kitty

The Human got BooBoo as a wee kitten in the middle of her junior year of college. One night, when she was about 9 months old, BooBoo leapt from a third story window into the backyard of their flat and disappeared for two or three days. She returned very self-satisfied, and also knocked up; a couple of months later she had two kittens (thankfully, only two). She was a good little mother before getting spayed the minute those kittens were weaned.
The Human and her many roommates enjoyed the little family, but eventually found good homes for the kittens. Life went happily on for about four months, until the landlord of one adopter found out about the illicit kitten, and she was returned. Let's just say, it was not the happiest of family reunions. Sweet little Angela was delighted to see her mommy, but the same could not be said of mommy.
For the next 16 years, the two moved everywhere the Human went in those post-college years, but they were never exactly the best of friends. Well, Angela tried, but BooBoo was not having any of it.
At 16, sweet Angela crossed the Bridge. The Human was sad, but BooBoo could not believe her good fortune. The last 2-1/2 years of her life were the happiest. She sat on the Human's lap and purred and purred, played like a kitten, and enjoyed her golden years immensely. She was a Good Girl, but in many ways, she makes me look positively sweet-tempered and angelic, MOL. I look forward to meeting her one day in the Great Land Beyond.

Wake Me Up for the Ballgame

Ordinarily I am not a fan of being roused
from a pleasant slumber on a cold, rainy day,
especially when the purpose is to get footage of me
for the blog post that she failed to plan (who am I kidding?
she never plans for it). However, when my furry ball
has been imbued with the intoxicating scent of valerian,
she must needs be forgiven.

I May Lose My Ears Now and Then

(Though not today)

But at least no one has ever had to replace them with big ol' sticks,
like happened to this poor stag in Sutro Park.

Trifecta of Trivia

So here are our Friendly Fill-In responses for today, courtesy of our furiends at 15 & Meowing and Four-Legged Furballs:

1. My favorite kind of music is the kind I don't have to listen to.

2. I don’t believe that there can be people who don't like kitties; we are purrfect. What's not to love?

3. My ideal day: Human home, radiators on, sunpuddles, my favorite foods, a nice baff.  Multiple naps.

4. Don’t let a Human "No!" stop you from doing whatever you please.

I'm doing my level best to grow a new white whisker to balance out the one I am sporting on the right. They way I see it, I have a good chance, since two seem to be sprouting. Lately, though, I seem to lose some before they ever even come to fruition. It's kind of frustrating.

Our rooftop tomato seems to be a little worse for the wear after the last couple of rains. Still, it's hanging in there and hasn't yet turned completely disgusting. It's still cold with more rain on the way.

Will the little 'mater survive? Stay tuned, Kitties.
