Sunday Selfie: Ranting About Rain

Caturday might have been our last day of sunshine for awhile. I enjoyed it.

Now, Kitties, after all these many years of drought in California, even I, given to complaining as I am, would not rant about the actual rain. No, what has drawn my ire are the weather forecasters, who seem to revel in transforming a simple rainstorm into breathless drama. No longer are we expecting heavy rain, or showers, or even a  storm. No, what we have now are "atmospheric rivers," suggesting that the Mighty Mississippi may be about to plop down upon us, and we'd all best head to Home Depot for ark-building supplies.

Finally, on a completely unrelated note, a couple of weeks ago someone tossed this cherry tomato on the roof of the garage outside our dining room window. So far, it's in pretty good shape.

Well, if an ark is being built, you can relax, Spitty and be confident that with your good looks, high IQ and quick wit, you will definitely be one of the two cats chosen to go onboard. Sad to say that it might mean farewelling the Human. (Sorry.)

I wonder if that wee tomato might take root??

The weather guessers do exaggerate a lot here also. We have had a week of warms and sun and NO rain which is nothing short of a miracle in the SW of England at this time of the year, well any time of the year really. We have reached at least 60F most days which is very warm for this time of the year for us.
I am surprised the birds haven't eaten that tomato. Last summer something kept eating the lower tomatoes in my greenhouse and I thought it was caterpillars, but then I caught Mr.Blackbird marching in for his breakfast! He was not pleased when I blocked the door to stop him.

Without knowledge they just guess and hype Spitty!

Spitty, you can come stay with us-if you don't mind high winds. XO

How random...a cherry tomato?
Winter came back to Michigan with a vengeance, Spitty...what's with that? Is Mother Nature mad a San Francisco too?

Spitty, I agree. EVERYTHING is an emergency and to be prepared for so that you'll still be among the living The LOVE making things as bad as possible. They feel it brings viewership and there are some people who cannot cut through that and see it for what it is.

oh. that was Ollie. He was on a walkabout and was trying to get your attention. He came home all upset that you hadn't responded. I told him there must have been some misunderstanding. (just poor aim, poor baby is blind in one eye). xoxo

Well, the rain has been pretty relentless up and down the coast. Not so sure about this atmospheric river stuff, though.

Here we just have severe winter advisories that wind up to be about four inches of snow. People do panic so! We, however, couldn't care less.

What is the deal with the tomato? That is pretty weird.

And The Lord said "Spitty-Kitty"
Build you an Ark
Cause it won't be pretty
When the skies get dark.

And I open up the clouds
And the rain starts fallin
And the wet cat-crowds
And their Beins come callin"!

And said Spitty-Kitty
"Yeah, Right, Mr. Lord,
I'm comfy in my beddie
And I cannot nail a board.

Got no thumbs, if ya notice,
Ya caused that from the start
But I'll make ya a promise
That comes right from the heart.

If ya give me some thumbs
I will see what I can do
Ta build a fancy Arkdom
Fer Cats and Beins too!

And the Lord said "SPITTY
That is against the RULE!
So just out of pity
I'LL only send an inch or two..."

King Spitty, them press humans really do seem to go OTT (Old Testament Threat) on things! Now, if they said I shall deliver unto thee cherry tomatoes, and the days of tomato shall be, 20 days and nights, well then this kitty would be worried. Maybe humans need to calm down . . . On the other paw, do you have a large umbrella handy? ;)

@Mark: We all help him when it comes to poems of cats. Sometimes it werks and sometimes falls flats.

He says he has a muse, but he also means us mews. And sometimes he just has an idea that suddenly grows, ya know? But he wouldn't be here without friends.

Those weather forecasters seem to exaggerate most things these days. But we did hear you've gotten a lot of rain. Can't believe that tomato hasn't turned to mush. Misses from MM.
