Not-A-Garden-Tour #18

A couple weekends ago, the Human saw fit to abandon me to attend a conference in Monterey at a nice center called Asilomar (notice they never have these conferences in beautiful downtown Stockton, but I digress).
Because the Asilomar grounds were booked up when she registered, she ended up staying at a tiny motel called the Deer Haven Inn about a block from the grounds.
It was a sweet little room with a little fireplace--gas, but still! a fireplaceWe don't have even a pretend fireplace so the Human enjoyed it.
As it turned out, the motel was aptly named because across the street,
Bambi was taking an evening stroll.
The real deal accommodations were in more artistically rustic buildings, of course.
Although she heartlessly left me behind, I did pop down for a quick tour of the beach:
The late-afternoon was gray and cold, but still, the Pacific is the Pacific--
and Monterey Bay's a lot cleaner and more deserted than San Francisco.
Here are some people having a real, non-gas fire!
This nice little walkway stretches a long ways--but it was gray and chilly!
So Kitties, that's our Not-A-Garden-Tour for today!
Hope you enjoyed our little trip to the shore.

So hang on, was that a conference or a holiday? Ă„iti says it was one of those working weekends where they send you somewhere nice so you think you've had a holiday but really that was not the case as you had to think so hard. Just make sure she doesn't do it again, King Spitty. You can't be left all alone for too long, especially now there's a Magic Fishie around......

Beautiful in a cold and gray way. Be glad she left you at home wif your pink beddie. Seems much better to us.

Very cool looking place! But we're glad there was a picture of you too!!

Star says: Oh Spitty darling, I'm so glad to hear that you truly have no problem with my *ahem* bodily fluids... And to prove it, I'll be over in a few minutes to give you an all over body licking until your silky handsome furs are alllll damp with my spit, and then I'm going to pee in your litter box! *kitty grin* Love you too, King Spitty XOXOXOXO

Oh man, look at the huge litter box. Looks cold, but hey...you can kick the litter all over the place and no one would yell!

Star says: The cuddley nap while you dry is a given, purrrrrrrr. I always pee IN the litter box, I am a lady, no matter what my drooling on toys may lead you to think. XOXOXO

We think that was a great and nice tour. It is always fun to see the ocean and the beach. It does look chilly. Love your fireplace in your Motel room. We want one of those. Take care.

Spitty, I knew you would pop over! Glad you did because you could go back to the total softness and warmth of your pink beddie and leave her to the cold, damp and wet ocean. Wet I say. W-E-T. You would want NONE of that!!

Haff n Haff? See you soon.

Do you know what? I've never been to the shore. Funny, 'cause it's just over the mountain and (the peeps tell me) fifteen minutes away. Guess it's 'cause I'm not a big fan of going in the car. Sure does look pretty on your blog, though... purrs

My mom loves loves loves the ocean, no matter the weather. She's been to the beach in hurricanes, tropical storms and even snow. Me, I just like the sand part. And the seagull part. And I'd like the fish part, if they got up to the sand so I could reach them without getting my footies wet.

So why do we live in the desert so everybody can complain about the heat for 8 or 9 months?

The motel looks very nice! I've never stayed a hotel that has a fireplace in a room. The bed cover looks cute and what a fun she got to see bambi so closely!
It does look chilly, but it must have been fun to visit the veach :-)

Fireplaces are nice. The lady has a pretend wood stove with "flames" and an electric heater built in.

Those photos made me a bit chilly.
I like Fall, even though it is a bit nippy (not that kind of ni; you know what I mean.)

Well, 'cept for that vishus deer, Spitty, it looks like a really nice place!

Oh...and you wouldn't have wanted to see a picture of the bomit I left on the couch the other day. In fact, you know how when somebuddy hurls and others see it or get a whiff of it, they start hurling, too?? Well, I almost hurled when I saw the bomit mess that I left on the couch. Srsly! I hate to admit it, but I started gagging! So, a picture of it woulda had everybuddy hurling for sure!

Scenery does nothing for me I'm afraid. TW sez they used to have a real fireplace in their old house. It was real but no longer operational. Now they have A/C instead. MOL
