About Time

Okay then. I imagine you are thinking that I mean, "About time for a post" and you would not be wrong.
But I have something else to say. On Monday night, she was executing a complicated purchase (::eyeroll::) of a Medicare supplemental insurance policy and stuff, and in the course of doing so, she extracted the little "deck of cards" of all sorts she keeps in her purse (drivers license, credit, debit, library, insurance etc. etc. etc.). Well, all the business was satisfactorily concluded and she was pleased.
The next day, Tuesday, she headed out after work* to go to PetSmart to buy things for ME. So she got foods and litter and a couple new toys and a nice new scratcher/beddy dealio, and she got in the checkout line and reached for her debit card--oops, not there! In fact, in the little pocket where she keeps everything, her whole little packet of plastic, there was NUFFING at all, not a single card of any sort. She had some cash, but not enough to get me all the very impawtant stuffs in her cart, so she had to put a bunch of stuff back and come home. She only had some cans and a bag of litter and ONE measly toy as an offering.
I believe she ought to have returned there yesterday, this time WITH her plastic moneys, and bought me all those things she had to leave behind Tuesday. If she *really* loved, me, she would have, right? Well, you would be wrong. She did *not* return there yesterday, but she did go back today and brought home this really great loungey-thing. It's delightful.

*And you might ask yourself, Isn't she finished YET? She says Monday the 9th will be IT. I'll believe it when it happens.

The thing is, Spitty, that there's no hard evidence that when she was in PetSmart on Tuesday she actually had all that terrific stuff in her cart, ready to buy for you. I mean, let's look at the facts: she came home with some cans, litter and one toy. That does seem to indicate that she had been to the shop. You could also have seen the pile of cards left carelessly lying around and watched while she stuffed them back into her purse on Tuesday evening. But the rest of the story? No. You - and she - know the rules: no pics means it didn't happen. She should have used her phone to take a pic of herself in the checkout queue with all that great stuff - even that might have been staged to help her look good, but I think we might have been willing to give her the benefit of the doubt.

Admittedly, she's made up some ground by bringing home that loungey-thing - but that should have been by way of an apology for letting you down so badly on Tuesday. We're all still waiting to see the mountain of stuff from the original trip to the store. All I can say is that it better some home with her soon!

That's a scary thing when you don't have your plastics with you :)

At least she was able to get a few things that first time, Spitty (although we think she should have returned *the same day* to get the rest)--our mom had the same single dollar on her since December until she wasted it on a lottery ticket last week. (She says it was a whimsical purchase, not a wasteful one. Pfft.)

Oh Spitty, how well I know this! Everytime that I travel, I divest myself of things that I don't want to lose and won't need while traveling. Then, I get home and bound off to do my usual stuffs...but if I forgot to return said items...then I'm in trouble! I include keys and library cards, discount cards, yadda yadda yadda. Been there, done that!

You are EVER so patient with her......you've endured endless promises and other infractions for quite a while now and yet you forgive - I do hope she will EVENTUALLY make up for all of this!

Hugs, Teddy

Mum always makes sure she gets her plastic cards back to where they belong in her purse.

Mom said she'd had a hissy time of it if she didn't have her deck of cards with her at the store. She'd obsess if she'd lost them etc. etc. until she got home and found them waiting.
