Sunday Selfie: The Conversation

THE HUMAN:     Spitty, do you have time for a little talk?
ME:                       Well, I was getting ready for my mid-morning nap. Is it important?
THE HUMAN:     I wanted to talk about your choice of receptacle last night when you, uh, barfed.
ME:                      Yes, I dimly remember that. It was kind of late, wasn't it?
THE HUMAN:     Yes, yes it was. In fact, you woke me.
ME:                       Oh. Sorry, I guess. I mean, excuuuuse me for upchucking and all.
THE HUMAN:     It's not so much the barfing, as where it occurred.
ME:                       And where was that again?
THE HUMAN:     In my good shoes. BOTH of them. I mean, I could overlook one as accidental, but . . .
ME:                      Well, the first one was starting to smell awful, so I switched mid-heave.
THE HUMAN:     ::crickets::

UPDATE: After frowing up twice over the past few days, about an hour ago I finally rid myself of a large and lustrous furball. Today I chose to make my deposit on the rug you can see above. Not as good as a shoe, I suppose, but my fur *is* black and it looked quite spectacular. You-Know-Who didn't say anything except, "Poor kitty. I bet you're glad to be rid of it finally." I guess she gets a few points for that.

Bravo!!!!!!

By the way, what are 'good shoes' ?

She says they hold a shine, they don't hurt, they're not all broken down, they look nice enough to wear to work (not that she works anymore, which is another reason she ought not to have interrogated me like that). She wasn't very sympathetic, was she?

Why did your human have her shoes somewhere where you could barf on them? That is what she should be asking herself.

I have to admit, I try to avoid Mrs H's shoes, as she does loads of gardening and such like and they don't need any extra stuff adding to them. Her pumps though are fair game, but I have to seriously miffed to even think about that sort of action. MOL

Well, she did leave them laying around so...

In my opinion it was thoughtful of you to share it between the shoes. Why give one preferential treatment?

Hee! Hee!| Coffee came out Mommy's nose when she read this!
Queen Penelope was the purrfect upchuck into the shoer...Her favorite was to do it in Mommy's slippers so that mommy would get her feet smeared when she slid them on.
Mommy has not had to buy new slippers since I came to live with her.
Was Nellie visiting you last night when all of this transpired?

A Two Fur!! Can't beat that for symmetry. But a wee bit annoying nevertheless.

Sounds like a good reason to change shoes :) I hope you feel better Spitty.

Well, where exactly were your human's good shoes when this happened, Spitty? She must have left them out. Not your fault.

Oh Spitty - well played, my friend. Well played! The only thing left to do is to continue the conversation and explain to the Human precisely what this punishment was for. If she doesn't understand the cause and effect relationship here she's not going to get the message - and you'll have to repeat the exercise.

Need I join the chorus of others who suggest that the entire incident could have been avoided had your human put her shoes in their proper storage place and NOT left them out for all and sundry to barf on them???? Case closed.

If she doesn't want her shoes yakked up on, she needs to put them away. Glad the hairball is up and gone.
