Except . . . she had never before seen me snooze under this particular piece of furniture, and in fact had no idea I could even squeeze myself into that little space. Well, Kitties, she freaked out and thought maybe I was dead or something! WTF??? I was S-L-E-E-P-I-N-G, Lady--emphasis on the was.
So, because she was all freaked out, she came straight at me at an almost-run, frantically calling "Spitty! Spitty! What are you doing???", thus waking me instantly and sending me into Full Panic mode myself, as I scrabbled like some crazed Ninja Cat to get out from under that little table and far away from her.

It was like a damn Marx Brothers movie in here for a few minutes. Anyway, I ended up glaring at her from across the room, wishing I could say, "Have you lost your f'ing MIND, Human?" We is all calmed down now, though, and I have since been napping peaceably on my kitty tower.
It was a tight fit down under that table, but I liked it. It was SNUG. Now, I don't know if I will ever feel comfy under there again.

Oh dear Spitty! When Annabelle first came and Mom had her in the back bedroom she managed to squeeze underneath the sofa in that room. But the opening underneath this sofa is like negative one inch. It is so small, she was sure Annabelle was going to mutilate herself so she had to put all kinds of barriers around the edge of the sofa to keep her from going underneath it. finally she relented and let Annabelle high tail it to the closet every time she was scared and that worked for Annabelle and for Mom.
Oh, no...! Oh, we can't help it, but we're laughing, Spitty. That's something our own human would have done. Ruining a perfectly good nap -- and napping spot!
You should have came running at HER and bitten her. That’s what CK would have done. I thought only TW panicked like that.
Geez, Spitty! Humans are so crazy! If she wanted to find out if you were alive, she should have waved a chicken leg under your nose - now, that is a good way to wake up!
Oh no. This calls for hams. *cracks jar...aims tunnel*
Hahahaha!!! They dunnarf get in a two un eight dun they!!! (The Staff's from London, that's how they talk!) A consoling brewski is called for I think!! x
Nap, a ourrfect hidey hole ruined!
Yep. Moms are especially bad about ruining our fav nap spots.
The head peep did that to one of the cats who came before. Same thing, only he was asleep in an unaccustomed spot on the floor. If he wore pants, she would have scared the pants off of him. What is with these humans, Spitty? Thsy're obviously too high-strung!
Maybe she needs to go back to camp for a few more lessons, Spitty.
I don't know Spitty but I think you will never be able to go under that nice hidey table again after THAT fright! Humans.....seriously!.......
Humans eh ? do you think they write blogs about the funny, weird and crazy things that we do ?
MOL oh my goodness! Poor Spitty! I can almost imagine the scene and I'm laughing hard! I feel for you both, enough for a heart attack or two!
Star says: Sheesh, humans... I can't tell you how many times I'm in a deep relaxing sleep and my mom will think I've 'passed on'. Why can't I sleep with my mouth slightly open, tongue tip out and eyes slightly opened without someone thinking I'm gone?? Sheesh again.. Missing you Spitty! I'll bite mom soon if she doesnt post a picture of me! Promise! Purrrrrrrrr
awww she destroyed the magic of that moment and that place... humans are very talented to damage our sweetest dreams on odd places...
Hahaha...sorry, but I can understand how freaked out your human was.
Sorry your peaceful nap was interrupted. I hope it won't keep you from going back there for a nap. That does look nice comfy place and those legs of the furniture are very cool :-)
Poor Spitty......you find a little cubby that's snug and WHAMMO, the human ruins it all. Maybe she has seen the error of her ways and will NOT do the freak dance should she see you napping under there again? It might be worth a try......humans ARE trainable - it just takes a whole lot of time....and patience....!
Hugs, Sam
Wait until she is asleep and then jump on her head, payback!
After I finished giggling, poor Spitty, I think your human is wound a bit too tight these days...she needs a vacation!
Spitty, that is most egregious. Imagine, ruining a perfectly good secret snoozing place and scaring you to death in the process! I think that qualifies as way worse than not having Cheez-Its.
Oh man. We feel your pain, Spitty. You want to come over for some playtime? There are still another 2 boxes of durian in the fridge. Heehee.
We're really glad our Mommy has learned to panic quietly, walking over to where we are then squatting down and watch for our breathing. Especially Boomer. That boy sleeps REALLY SOUNDLY.
dood...we noe de haight mite get kinda foggy at times, N we noe we is kinda far a way frum yur castle, but we all sew noe we iz yur viceroy direct lee LEFT, tern de map, oh kay now direct lee RITE...but even with all that verbiage we can see ya coulda fitted 7 spittys under that table.....is she tryin ta say yur....over large ??? Heerz two a dolly varden trout kinda week oh end !!
That is terrible Spitty! You will never feel safe there again. Do you know what is worse? My human is laughing. Yes, you read that right. I am so ashamed of her laughing at something so terrible.
It is awful to be disturbed from a great nap, but I am sure your mom loves you very much and wanted to be sure you were OK.
We think we'd give up on that napping place. Sometimes the humans can panic needlessly. It's built-in craziness that they possess. Hope all is calm now, and you got some extra treats for almost having the fur scared right off you. XO, Lily Olivia, Mauricio, Misty May, Giulietta, Fiona, Astrid, Lisbeth and Calista Jo
Okay, recently I found a nice spot under my mommy's "chest of drawers" to take naps. When I wasn't in one of my boxes, my pillow bed, my linen closet shelf, my mommy's daybed, or trying to get into the pantry. But I think I freak her out more than she freaks me out when I stretch myself out of there. Like this morning! LOL I suggest if it is so nice and snuggly, go ahead and freak her out again. And make the scramble out of there epic!
