Sunny Sunday Selfie

There were sunpuddles today so I wasn't as mad as I might have been that the Human spent the day at school. This was the first day of their "ack-reddit-tay-shun" visit. Whatever that means. She says it'll all be over Wednesday. But I dunno. I don't find her the most honest person.

Since some of you inquired about what a "soft story" is (and believe me when I say we didn't used to know either), herewith is Wikipedia's explanation:
A soft story building is a multi-story building in which one or more floors have windows, wide doors, large unobstructed commercial spaces, or other openings in places where a shear wall would normally be required for stability as a matter of earthquake engineering design. A typical soft story building is an apartment building of three or more stories located over a ground level with large openings, such as a parking garage.
This was the picture that accompanied the little article. Maybe we'll stop complaining about the retrofit now:

Well, Spitty, I think you have grounds for complaining about the retrofit. Not because it's a nuisance, but because you and the Human weren't given accurate information about how long it would take, and it seems that the contractors aren't providing updated information. It's not a nice feeling to be kept in the dark and not treated with respect.

As for the Human being at work on a Sunday - dearie, dearie, dearie. I hoped you spent the time in the sun puddle listing all the things that you will require her to do to make it up to you.

OMC, you should have seen my human's jaw drop when she saw that photo of that building! Yeah, no reason to complain about retrofitting.

Did you find out what that big metal box held? So...the city does not want your building and you to become pancakes. Just as we suspected. Probably a good thing. You definitely look kingly today lounging in your sunpuddle. Misty May is lying in a sunpuddle in the backyard and is blowing you some kisses. She says do not forget to to add your handsome self to the blog hop. XOCK, angel Lily Olivia, Mauricio, Misty May, Giulietta, angel Fiona, Astrid, Lisbeth, Calista Jo, Cooper Murphy and Sawyer

Well after seeing that "soft story" example I'd say it would be excellent to have that SOFT turned into HARD and STURDY!

Better inconvenienced today than squashed tomorrow is what we always say. Well, we don't really always say that, we just made that up. But still.
