Well, apparently an exorcism really takes it out of a kitty. I'll have to remember that for the next time. My friend, the Mom of Elliott, Izzy, Ivan and Sweet Caroline,* says that once the Human retires--an imminent occurrence-- this and other types of misbehavior could occur with increasing frequency.
I don't think I have the strength for that on my own. I may have to call together a volunteer squad of my fellow felines to help carry out cleansing rituals after too many strange Humans end up sitting--or worse, passing out--on my furniture. ::shudder::
*Well, I think she's sweet. She does have some brothers who might possibly disagree.

Yeah, Spitty, I hear that SOME retired humans turn into out-and-out party animals!
Look Spitty - you shouldn't be worrying yourself sick about how you're going to cope once the Human has retired. I've said it before and I'll say it again: the Human is there to provide you with the services and support you need and desire, NOT the other way around. That means that when she retires, she should be planning to make herself available to pamper you 24 hours per day. If she has a good year, then you might consider allowing her to entertain a small number of teetotaller guests for a brief afternoon tea party by way recognition and reward, but in my opinion, anything more than that would be way over the top and likely to create unrealistic expectations in her head.
You need to be strong now and manage her expectations of her forthcoming retirement quite firmly. The first few months after she's stopped working are also likely to be tough, but if you are firm but fair, and communicate precisely what's required (using short words and simple sentences, repeated two or three times each day), I think you'll eventually get the message across.

Spitty, you may be in for a wild ride as some retired humans like to have some serious fun!
They also like to have fun with groups ;)

Spitty! What do you think your Viceroys are for???
Um...Spitty...if you can't beat 'em, then join 'em!
We await with interest as to what these cleansing rituals will be - apparently we may have visitors over summer.
dood...we still got yur bak over heer in de haight; just give de werd ~ ☺☺♥♥
MOL! Well, there is one ray of hope, Spitty. We all know your human is a veritable social butterfly, so maybe the whole bunch can all convene elsewhere! (As long as your needs are met beforehand, of course.)
Or, there *is* always sending Caroline out there to scream those interlopers away. You'd have peace, we'd have peace--WIN-WIN!!

Spitty, our mom retired a year and a half ago and it’s been like that every since. Sheesh.
At least my woman goes out when she wants to party and leaves me in peace.
Happy vernal equinox!
Mum does not do this kind of retired stuff. I think she parties in other places, not at home.
