Sunday Selfies: Spitty and the Hoppers

Well, after a week-long clash of wills, an unconscionably long delay, amirite?, the Human caved at last and this very morning I was given my first Kanga-treat. At first I sniffed, and sniffed again, and then I consumed,
and consumed, and consumed. I had about 8, Kitties, and I would happily have eaten more.
But the stoopy Human was afraid I might start leaping tall buildings in a single bound.

Thanks again and again, Miss Megan
The little hoppers make for tasty nomming!

Eight? You waited all that time and then were restricted to just eight teeny tiny little treats? I'm gobsmacked, Spitty. What kind of Human are you living with? Eight! Sheeeeesh.

I don't think there's any prospect of those treats causing you to start leaping about. Put your paw down and demand more.

Glad you liked those treats from Down Under,Spitty..........perhaps your Human will bring you down here one day - then you can have as many as you like!

Oooh you lucky guy, Spitty, I only ever get three treats and they are tiny by comparison with those. Have they put a spring in your step? Anyways, I just wanted to say how good you look in your selfie in your high chair, the sun gives you a shimmer of silver to your fur.... indeed, most regal.

Eh... didn't the human say she wanted to wait for the weekend to get good pictures? Whatever happened to that plan? The quality of these pictures show that it was just some stupid excuse to make you wait for your presents.

You know what I would like?? I would like to crawl into a kangaroo's pouch and curl up. Do you think there's be room in there for me? I'm kinda a medium-sized boy. Do you think a nice mama 'roo would let me?

Spitty - when joeys (baby kangaroos) first crawl into their mother's pouch they are tiny tiny tiny - about the size of a jelly bean. However, they continue to get into the pouch even after they've grown quite large. That is, they start by leaving the pouch for short periods and those periods out of the pouch gradually lengthen. But they're quite large - perhaps about half the size of their poor dear mothers - by the time she kicks them out of the pouch for good when they're 8-11 months old.

The reason for telling you all of this? You might be a medium-sized boy pusscat, but you're only small for a joey, so there would be oodles of room in a kangaroo's pouch for you. Indeed, I think you could invite your favourite lady cat/s to join you: perhaps one larger one or two smaller ones.

Would a mama roo let you in her pouch? Hmmmm. I think she'd realise that you didn't smell like her joey and that may cause her to push you out. But, you never know until you try. Mind you, would you want to be in her pouch once she started bounding along? I think it might be a lot worse than a roller coaster or a very bumpy airplane flight!

Yaaaaaaaay - I guess. Even 12 doesn't sound like much of a party! Still, I guess they'll last a bit longer if you only have a few each day. (And you are going to get a few each and every day, aren't you Spitty?)

Hmmm, we wonder how Hoppy you might have felt after consuming those Hoppy treats? Did you want to leap a tall building, or just take a good, long nap dreaming of leaping tall buildings?

I agree with Megan's comments - especially the last sentence - I doubt very much that you would enjoy being in the pouch - those roos REALLY bounce as they move. But don't be put off from visiting Down Under because of that.........there is so much we could show you - I think you would particularly like to meet some koalas - now they are really really nice !
