Surprise!
OMC! Did I *say* you could creep up on little cat feet and pet me without purrmission?
You startled me, and Kitties do not like to be startled. Sometimes, it causes us to leap up, battle-ready and draw bloods.
Lucky for you, I was feeling calm and tolerant this morning when you snapped this unflattering photo. Doubly lucky, because sometimes when you take unflattering photos, you cause us to leap up, battle-ready and . . . well, you know the rest.

Unflattering? You look wonderful Spitty. I used to really attack whenever anyone laid their hand on me when I slept. Now I’m chill unless the flashy box comes out.
Yes, you do look a little shocked. But you re so kind and forgiving!
Is everything ok, Spitty? We think she'd really deserved some bloody reminders about how to not treat a king.
You loved it; we can tell...
You do not look thrilled with that unexpected attention, Spitty!
Dearie dearie dearie - you do look quite startled there Spitty. Do you want me to come over and give her a smack?

Your FACE! That expression! Did you tell her that she was on borrowed time?
With those big eyes,we wonder what that hand is doing ;)

She was very brave to risk her arm, Spitty.
You do look totally startled Spitty. It works the other way around at our house. Our Mom concentrates so hard sometimes that you could be driving a working cement mixer and sneak up on her. MOL! It is super fun. We are sure Mom Mary was happy no bloods were spilled today. XOCK, Lily Olivia, Mauricio, Misty May, Giulietta, Fiona, Astrid, Lisbeth and Calista Jo
