Keeping Up with the Chonkos

Mr. (Gray) Chonko and Mrs. (Black) Chonko are two ferals that the Human feeds twice a week (don't worry though--other peeps feed them all the other days).

Although normally I would be offended at her being with Other Cats, I do not begrudge the Mr. & Mrs. their daily foods (though as you might guess from their nickname, they lack the lean and hungry look of true ferals, who actually have to kill their own dinners).

They are elderly for feral cats, at about 12 for Gray Boy and 10 or so for the Mrs. They are accustomed enough to the Human now that they don't bolt in fear, though Mr. Chonko is braver than his other half. The Human has become very fond of them, though they don't allow touching, and even if they did, she wouldn't, as they should not become too complacent around Humans.

Spitty, it is so nice that Mom Mary and others take such good care of the Mr. and Mrs. We are certain that is what has allowed them to have such long lives. Thanks for sharing. It is good that Mr and Mrs Chonko have your human and others to feed them.

That's very kind of your Human to feed Mr. and Mrs. Chonko a couple of days a week AND it's nice others "fill in" the other days. No doubt they are VERY VERY happy to have regular feedings. Ferals find good shelter too so no doubt they have places they can rest safely. Your Human gets a big STAR. Truly.

Hugs, Teddy (the Bachelor Chonk)

Spitty, the same thing happens to me; one gets to love the feral cats even if we cannot pet them!

They look like a happy pair and we wish them all the success a feral can enjoy. Three cheers for your Mum

Very nice of your human to feed the Chonkos Spitty. Way too many community cats have been abandoned by their humans and left to fend for themselves. The least we can all do is make sure they are spayed or neutered as the case may be and then give them the best care we can. Kudos to your human and to you for understanding.

I let TW feed less fortunate cats with the food I reject cos, you know, throwing it away would be a sin.
