(Semi) Wordless Wednesday: Tent Time

Of all the cozy places in the house, I like my tent best. In a rare moment of inspiration, the Human put a soft, comfy beddy inside for me. I usually take my main nap of the day in my tent, unless it is ridiculously hot, which fortunately is not often. When the fogs are in, the house is quiet and the Human is at work, there's nothing better than a good nap in my wonderful tent. Ahhhhhhh, I feel one coming on right..................now.

PEEESS: So, what was that crash? Well, I know since two milliseconds after that picture was taken I went to investigate. But the Human was too lazy to bother dragging her butt to the window, so *I'm* not tellin' her.

Baffus Interruptus

There I was, preparing for a l-o-n-g and satisfying toe baff . . .
When a sudden crash outside diverted my attention!

What to do, what to do? My toes needed attention but . . . curiosity doesn't really kill the kitteh.
Right?

Mancat Monday Madness

Oooouucchh! This thing keeps whackin' me in the noggin!
There! Gotcha! We'll see who's Boss!
Come back here right now! Stay! Straw thing, meet my Mighty Claws of Doom!

Once in Awhile . . .

. . . it would be nice if you took my taste into account when you add to your Netflix queue. Oh, I see we have yet more episodes of "Warehouse 13."  Sigh.

Saturday Snoopervisin'

Clowns to the left of me,
   Jokers to the right,

here I am,
Stuck in the middle with The Human.

Ha ha ha, I crack myself up sometimes!

Formerly-Feral Friday Fun

Oh, hello Kitties! Nice of you to drop by  today!
I'm sorry not to be a better host . . .
. . . but I really must kill the dangly thing under my Ess.
I'll be with you in a few minutes.

Update Friday morning: Fuzzy Tales seems to have found the source of yesterday's malware problem. YAY!

My Mousie, Don't Touch Him

I might not be playing with him right now,
but that does not mean you can just put your smelly skin-paws all over him.

(And keep your mitts off my cigar also.)

It has been a hard few days. Though we did not really know Miss Peach, we are purring for her furriends and family, and we are so very sorry about little Beignet, who ran off to keep Sweet Praline company across the Bridge. We are sending purrs and healing thoughts to Truffle and Mom Paula as they begin their new life and adventures together. We know they were made for each other.
Love to all, Spitty & His Human

Almost* Wordless Wednesday: Splish-Splash I Was Takin' My Baff

*Did you hear that tiny whistle about midway through? Oh, sure, like that was going to make me look up at the camera, mid-lick.

Rules for the Lappity-Lap-Lap

All right, Human. You know Spitty's Rules for Laptime

Rule #1: One paw must ALWAYS remain atop the desk.

Rule #2:  Brushies must be involved. Grab that brush from the drawer in the next 30 seconds or Spitty's outta here.

Deep Thoughts @ Dinnertime

I like to swish my tail as I eat.
I feel ambivalent about my new plastic trays from Target that the Human got for only $1.99 each. They are shiny and easy to clean, but in questionable taste.
I would like to play with my orange mousie after dinner. I wonder where I left it?
This is not my favorite flavor of Stinky Goodness. I wonder when the Human is going to PetSmart again?

Easy Like Sunday

My goodness! It's almost sunny out there.
Okay, who stole my fogs?

Spitty's Saturday Sippy Time

So, the Human not only went to w-o-r-k yesterday, she then proceeded (without my permission, mind you) to go out to a fancy-dancy birfday dinner for her dear friend last night.
So, sometime around 1:00 a.m., I finally got my half'n'half treat. One in the a of m, Kitties! Can you even imagine such neglect?
Oh yes, I am hearing some of you protesting, "Better late than never, Spitty!" but I am having none of that nonsense. It was un.ac.cep.ta.ble!

PeeEss:  I am sorry we've been a little scarce for a couple of days. That might last until the Human readjusts to actually going to her J-O-B (which by the way she feels lucky to have in these recessionary times), instead of hanging around playing on the computer, watching DVDs, reading silly novels, and serving my every need all day.

Why yes!

                                As a matter of fact . . .

. . . I did hatch this mousie all by myself!

Doleful Thursday

The Human had to officially go back to school today. She's been going in, but only for a few hours; now she's going to be gone all freaking day!

Sigh

She better be planning to stay home with me every weekend to make up for it!

Wordy Wednesday

How lame is my Human? SO lame that she's had this camera for 2-1/2 years and did not know until this very evening that she could take a video with it.

It contains nothing of interest, but you can actually see me act stupid with my fevver (in truth I really wasn't even in the mood, but I made a half-hearted effort since she wanted to make her little movie and all).

Maybe she will actually learn a few things before she posts another one.

PeeEss  Please note the clever, inventive title of the video! First rate, eh?

Keeping Up with the Cousins

The Human visited our cousin Wally the other day. He was less-than-excited to see her, but did allow a little paw-holding as long as his Dad was firmly in charge.
Cousin Aggie was unusually tolerant of the Human. She allowed proximity and pettings, which she has not permitted for quite some time. Perhaps it was because she was still in a semi-somnolent state after her nappy.

I think I will bring the Cousins to the big mystery blow-out pawty at Mark's Mews later today!

Ess Is for Snug

When a boy's done chasing his Land Octopus and Crinkly Ball and Flying Disks, there's nothing better than settling in for a good nap in his Ess. So snug and comfortable!

Another Stunning Prize!

Cathy Keisha, the World's Most Stunning Cat, sent me a prize! Wow--this is my week, isn't it?
When we opened the big mailing envelope, we found this stunning card with a sweet note. (By the way, am I the only kitty without my own product line, I wonder? I shall have to discuss this with my Human.)

And look! Here is my exciting prize:
I had a good opportunity to inspect all the parts--the "gun" and the three flying disks.
And then the Human let fly. When the red one shot into the hallway, I gave rapid chase. When the green one flew, I chased it down, too.
But when the Human let loose with Disk Number 3, she shot it right at my adorable little head! Is she trying to kill me? I asked myself as I ducked and ran for cover.
Thanks, CK, for my new toy. It's pawsome!

Saturday Sulks

Kitties, Can we talk?

I have The Sulks.

Even though the Human is often the cause of great distress and annoyance, I have grown used to her presence over the past couple of months, and now she informs me that her frequent absences are just the harbinger of many more to come as "school" officially begins next week.

With whom do I file a complaint about this?

A Prize from Hell!

Kitties! Looky looky looky! I gotted a prize from Nellie, just for knowing that she was all hissed off in this picture! Can you believe it? A PRIZE!

First when we opened the little package, there was this cool card (I was pumped that she drew all those little hearts around her name):
Then, we pulled out this really nice key chain with a  picture of Nellie herself right on it!
After a thorough inspection and sniff test, I told the Human she could put some keys on it as long as she takes really good care of it and remembers that it is actually MY key chain.

Thanks, Nellie, for my Prize from Hell! I love it!

(Still) Not-A-Garden-Tour #9

Last week, the Human and her friend visited the "new" California Academy of Sciences in Golden Gate Park. (Why, you might ask, is "new" in quotation marks? I will tell you! It is because, despite the fact that we live only a half-mile away, this was the first time she had visited since it reopened in freaking 2008!)

This little guy welcomes all and sundry at the front door. I'd like to have his choppers, yes I would!
These shy delicious birdies hang out in the Rain Forest, a huge enclosed exhibit reaching from floor to ceiling. You get to the top by walking slowly on a ramp that spirals upward. There are wonderful sights along the way. The problem? It's about 100 freaking degrees in there with 100% humidity. By the time she reached the elevator down and endured an inspection of her person for stray butterflies, her hair was sopping and her clothing limp and unlovely.
See the delicious gecko? He's pretty hard to spot! (Say, George? Is that you? Maui, Grayce and the rest are missing you!)
The Human pondered a refreshing dive from the top of the rainforest exhibit.
The aquarium has levels and tubes and weird bends! You can look right through to the other side at many places. See the boy at the top? Me, I'm too distracted by the delicious fish.
The Human had a nice conversation with this delicious fellow.
What's this you ask? The contents of a shark's tummy, the sign helpfully explains. (Uh, who tosses Barbie in the ocean? Some sadistic little girl on a cruise?)
Did we mention the tanks are large? And full of delicious fish, of course.
He was ready to go clean some of the tanks. Though they are not in the picture, various scrubbing implements were floating on the surface--a sort of watery tool bench.
This Foucault's Pendulum shows the rotation of the earth. The pendulum swings in a straight line while the earth rotates beneath. It knocks over a peg every 30 minutes in a 39-hour cycle. The amazing thing is that the Humans stood there mesmerized like Zombies waiting minutes on end for that tiny-but-satisfying little "clink" when the peg fell. See, they seemed to say, the earth really does rotate! As though they had just now made the discovery themselves. Sigh.
The building has a living roof. It does all sorts of exciting environmental things like recycle 98% of rainwater that falls on it, but I think it looks like the set of the Teletubbies.
