Chillin' Like a Villain . . . and
Tale of the Tiny Toilet

Oh, Kitties! Yes, now I am Chillin' like a Villain . . . but I sure wasn't earlier today. In fact, I spent a good portion of the morning UTB as a plummer came and ripped out our (well, to be precise, her) toilet and replaced it with some kindergarten-size model. I don't get it though--I thought he'd be bringing fruit, not some doll-house throne!

So, as you can see, the tank is considerably smaller and less, um, forceful in its flushes.

And now she will have to repaint the wall, eh?

The sturdy old standby lasted 109 years--since 1907, when this place was built.

I dunno. What are the chances this commode will make it till 2125?

Interesting to read your detailed and insightful analysis of the history of plumbing in America in the 20th and early 21st centuries, Spitty. Will it be available from Amazon when you've done the final edits? I guess, too, that you'll wait until the Human has painted the wall before publishing, as you'd want to include a photograph of the completed project. Hmmmmm. Perhaps we'll be able to buy a copy in, um, ah, 2019??

As long as YOUR bathroom facilities haven't shrunk and are being maintained in a satisfactory manner, I guess things aren't too bad.

Oh my, that is quite tiny! Not sure that it will last near as long! It is quite a bit smaller isn't it! Hope your Mama doesn't have any problems with the new tiny thing.

We'd like to know why she didn't get one of those push button models--you could have entertained yourself to no end playing on the tank lid whenever she was away from you! Once again, your human has made a purchase without your being foremost in her mind.

Wow, that's a long time to have one toilet, Spitty. Are you gonna help with the painting?

That tank is sure a lot smaller than the old one, Spitty. With the drought and all, we suppose that's good, though repainting is a pain, for sure. One more thing for your human to do, right?

Hugs to you both!

That is indeed teeny tiny and water saving. We trust it is comfortable, and fit for purpose.
So is that the original wall wood behind it ? 109 years old? That's got a few years of painting to catch up.

Truffle spent all afternoon under the bed because Grandpa Paula was working in the bathroom on our sink.

My human loves vintage everything, so she is a little sad that a 1907 toilet had to be replaced. Yes, she is weird like that. And no, none of ours is anywhere near that old. In fact, she replaced the one in her bathroom a few years ago... with a black ceramic one.

Spitty, anther outrage...forcing you to spend time UTB for some frivolous matter!

Megan's comments just crack me up! We had to do the same thing, Spitty...take out a really old toilet and replace it with new, and nothing matched. I think our old one was dated 1917.

We have a small one like that. Mommy hates it. It takes two sometimes three flushes to do the job because the tank is so small. Not sure that really saves water. Plus it is so low to the ground. We liked our other one much better. It didn't last as long as yours though.

Wow, nothing lasts that long.

Well, back then things were made to last. Now things are made to break down so you have to buy a new one, so we doubt it will be around in 2125!
You look adorable sprawled out on that chair! Smooches!

Whoa! That looks like TW’s commode. Did the old commode have a chain to flush it? TW’s Mom’s commode did.

Mom misses our super old toilet. These new low-flow ones are useless, especially if you have to flush twice. Sorry you had to spend time UTB! XOCK, Lily Olivia, Mauricio, Misty May, Giulietta, Fiona, Astrid, Lisbeth and Calista Jo
