Today I have decided to inaugurate Senile Saturday as an occasional feature on SpittySpeaks, thus providing the kitties of the Blogosphere an uproarious laugh at the expense of the two-legged ones.
So...what you see pictured below is the front door of our apartment (the interior front door, Thank Ceiling Cat, because if it were the exterior, we might not be here to tell this pathetic story):
This has happened not once, not twice, but three times over the past month, Fortunately, we have kind and honest neighbors who have not entered and robbed us blind or murdered us. It is just a matter of time, though, Kitties, don't you think?

OMC, this is a disturbing pattern! Thank Baste fur kindly neighbors.
Aren't you worried someone will come in and kidnap you, Spitty? You ARE the most valuable item in the apartment!
You gotta put the bitey on whoever is doing this Spitty. Humans need training.
Oh, that is Not Good. You ARE lucky you have decent neighbours!
Spitty, my man! What are we going to do with the staff? I shall have to incorporate this into our hectic schedule. But SHE will probably forget! Her senior moments are getting joined up these days!!
Good job no one came in and catnapped you!!! Horrors!! Fancy a beer later? >^,.^<
Spitty, I will tell you straight off. My mom has done the same thing! Her hands were full (or so she says!!) and in the effort to get her purse and packages inside and not temporarily lined up on the porch in case she forgot them (they should have been there to make it easier on her) she unlocked the door and hastily went inside guarding that *I* didn't go out as she was coming in..oh the excuse list for this failing is many and long...and she left the keys hanging there in the lock outside. So, tell me the difference I once asked her between leaving your purse outside on the porch for the convenience of theives or leaving the keys in the door so that we could be throttled in our sleep?
After they killed us and robbed us they could have driven away in our car TOO. Ah yes, good ol' mom.
She did this several times during her 12 hr. w/ OT shift rotation years and there were the keys hanging outside. Although it was scary to discover the next time she got up..still, it was a bit understandable with the lack of sleep and all but my delicate body may have been harmed if someone had come in! Her---she's much bigger..she'd get thru an attack. Me at 9 pounds..wispy smoke in the wind.
Be careful Spitty and check after her! Love you bunches. XOXOX
Oops. thieves. Not theives. How embarrassing.
Well, once you could let go, but THRICE? I am telling you, Spitty, it can only go downhill from here. Poor you.
Oh my goodness, taking those things in is key to being safe! I keep wanting to do a Senile Saturday but Dad keeps forgetting!
THREE times! OMC. Thank heavens for decent neighbors. Daddy has left the front door unlocked before. Lucky for him, Mommy found out before any of US went roaming or unsavory characters found out.
For Cod's sake Spitty! We TOLD you to have her head examined!
Disturbing, trending towards unbalanced and definitely senile behavior.
HAH! OMC! Someone could catnap you!! When they first moved to the condo, TW left the keys in the outdoor part of the door. A neighbor knocked on the door to let her know they were there. That was a warning to everyone that someone senile moved in. She's never done it again, thankfully.
What in the world will we do about our humans. That is skeery, Spitty. Mom has left the front door unlocked a few times. She has probably left the keys hanging too.

Dear Spitty,
Before my Mommy was old, she used to do this all the time! She hardly does this now as we hardly ever locks our door.(Remember we live in a tennie tiny village in the middle of nowhere)
Kisses
Nellie
Well, my mom hasn't done that here YET, but she did it a few times at the house and once at the apartment before that. She DID lock herself completely out here about a week or two after we moved in. (And you should have seen what she had on!) She was trapped in the garage with no tools, so she tried destroying the knob with a brick. Of course, after 20 minutes of this, all that did was wreck the knob.
Then she thought, "What would MacGyver do?" A little string, a little salt, and voila!
She hides a key in there now because, really, how many locksets can we fund out of toy savings.
What can you do with a peep?
Yikes Spitty! Next time she comes in and you dont see keys in her hand.. bite her! Soon it will be come a conditioned response, every time she gets bit, she'll check the door! MOL
We're glad you're safe! But we also know that should someone come in, you could but the hurty bitey on them so fast they wouldnt know what was happening! If you werent UTB that is...
Perhaps you should give your human a catscan..
Sorry your human is getting senile. Thankfully mum isn't showing signs just yet.
Oh, Spitty, this is scary, but sadly encouraging to us. This has happened at OUR house, too. What are we to do with these humans???
Sweet Spitty, of course I will.
Glogirly has done that before with her CAR.
Humans. Can't take em anywhere.
; ) Katie
Spitty, our senile dad-guy does this all the time. Our mom is pulling the keys out of the door all the time...much to her frustration.
My human Mum, lost her keys the other week... apparently the micro-chip key for one of the cars costs over $500 to replace!
Ouchy!

Well, Grampa once left an entire TENT on the top of the car once (so we are told) and it was never seen again...
Spitty, Spitty...*shakes head* We think it's time to take matters into your Kingly Paws. Just meowin'. WHAT would they do without us, anyways?!?!?!
OMC ! Sir Spitty, May be it's the time, Your human should use the necklace keychains like my mom instead the normal keychain !
Miss You Buddy
xoxo
We are relieved and happy to learn your neighbors aren't murderers.
oooh, this reminded mom that when she was younger (a LOT younger), there was a year that she must have locked the keys in the car 4-5 times! Takes her a while to learn I guess!
Oh yoo's could be nicked and held to ransom....Irresponsible humoms..
