Part II: Special Guest Baffing

The Human and her friend went to a tiny science museum in San Mateo County today, expecting a lot of fun interactive machines and exhibits.
What they did not expect were two resident bobcats (both rescued, separately, as wee cubs, desperately ill and injured). Because they imprinted on Humans, they were unable to be returned to their natural habitat, and so are happily cared for at the CuriOdyssey museum at Coyote Point.
Their enclosure looks small, but they have access to a larger outdoor area. The Human and her friend were very lucky--the place was nearly deserted on Thursday afternoon, and the bobcats were sweetly napping together. They are both boys, both about ten years old, and quite closely bonded to each other. Their names are Caro and Frankie. Unexpectedly, the Human ended up with more Baffing Videos.
(That's Frankie in the front)

(Ignore the nattering of the Humans)

That was a very special guest baffing.

Just makes you wonder about your own 'rescue'/abduction Spitty. You could just as easily have ended up living in a museum on public display! Imagine the crowds that would come to see a real live King cat. But instead, your Human has sequestered you away and kept you all to herself (and all your loyal subjects in cyberspace).

How fun! Many decades ago, my human's brother (who passed away in the early 1990s) found a baby bobcat half drowned in a stream. My human's parents kept him over the weekend and he was really sweet... but yeah, he couldn't be returned to the wild because he was way too human friendly! He went to stay at Wildlife Waystation, a preserve here in southern California.

They are gorgeous! I love them sleeping together in their hammock and then their bathing.

How wonderful that the bobcats are well taken care of there....they sure are beautiful animals and were so lucky to wind up in a place where they could live a safe and happy life.

Bobcats are amazing critters, and it's terrific that these two are being properly cared for. Your mom must have been chuffed to witness all this good stuff, Spitty!
