You may notice that His Majesty features rather UNprominently in this masterwork, which was painted from a picture in which Yours Truly appeared on Fritzie's computer screen.
Is it possible Fritzie was committing an act of treason? Oh, surely not! He was simply caressing my little heady. Right?

Well, I must agree that that is an excellent portrait of the Lord Chancellor, but I'm quite disturbed by the fact that your face - the face of the king! - has been covered up by a wayward paw.
That said, Fritzie can't be blamed - since it's a painting of his paw, rather than his actual paw. Barb may have simply created that part of the portrait from her imagination. She may also have been artistically challenged by the prospect of rendering your illustrious face adequately and needed to cover it up with something. Or she may even have been mindful of the feelings of Fritzie's humans and figured that if your face was included in the painting, then no one would ever really look at dear Fritizie - we'd all be focussing on you, the King.
So, I suspect that your very generous interpretation - that Fritzie was showing his respect by patting your head - is probably the one to go with. Doesn't matter if it's true or not: it provides a worthy explanation of the facts and builds harmony amongst all the parties involved. An especially elegant solution, Spitty. Just what we'd expect from you.
